Distinctive Patios, LLC was established in 2008 by Rick Hamilton in West Chester, Ohio. Rick had recently retired from Procter & Gamble after a 30 year career where he was an Associate Director in the Global Business Services organization.  For years, as a hobby, Rick had also designed and built a number of beautiful hardscape projects at home and for his family.

Looking for a new outlet for his creativity, business sense, and passion, Rick decided to start a hardscape business with the objective of delivering custom designs, at a fair price and guaranteed customer satisfaction. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Is there a designer in my area (Capitol Heights, Maryland).** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm interested in getting a blue print for the 2 level paver- patio with fir pit, benches and pillars. Perhaps I find contractors in my area that can do a similar design.

A: Joyce, This was a project we did right after I started my business in 2008.  At that point my designs were low tech as you can see below....that's the one you're after.   Since then we have evolved to three dimensional modeling and animations.  Check out our YouTube Channel to see these models.  And, good luck with your project!

**Q: What was cost of job?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Matches our home's back and concept is what we've decided on.

A: The upper patio is 36' wide at the house and extends out 12' to the 10' wide step opening between the pillars.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the firepit? (inside diameter)  Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe that this one was about 65" inside wall to inside wall (about 62" between caps).  This was constructed with UNILOCK Estate Wall tapered blocks.  Generally I use all small blocks which would produce a fire pit that was 62" wall to wall.  On this job I added some medium blocks to make it a little bigger.

**Q: What are the dimensions of both patio levels?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for the interest in one of our patios.  The upper level is 36' wide and 12' out.  The step between the pillars is 10' wide and 5' out.  The lower level circle has a 24' diameter.

**Q: Loved your floor, where is it from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The concrete pavers are from Belgard, their Old World collection.  Used 75% gray, 25% tan blend.   Pavers laid on concrete drivay as an overlay.

A: UNILOCK Stonehendge for main field in Sierra color with a UNILOCK Copthone soldier course in three color blend.
