> Last year we completed a full home renovation and addition with Schachne Architects & Builders and couldn’t be happier with both the process and the result. It was a major project - we added square footage, replaced all the plumbing and electrical, put on a new roof, and completely remodeled the entire interior – and from the very beginning the team made the process feel very manageable. It’s a small team that works closely together on every project, which was great because they were very responsive and you always knew who to go to.
>
> Stan, as both the architect and general contractor, was incredible to work with throughout the planning phase. We went through multiple versions of the floor plan, tweaking and refining things until it was exactly what we wanted. Stan was patient and very good at helping us think through the pros and cons of different options.
>
> Donna was wonderful during the design phase and beyond. She helped us make what felt like an endless number of finish selections, from materials and colors to fixtures and details. She also provided input on furniture placement and room layouts, which made a huge difference in helping us design a space that was functional.
>
> Dane was another key part of the design and architectural process. He worked closely with us on architectural modifications and helped create mockups and visual concepts for finishes and design details, making it much easier to envision the final product and make decisions.
>
> Once construction started, Jeremy (project manager) and Nicole (asst project manager) became our go-to people. They were at the house daily coordinating subcontractors, keeping everything moving, solving problems, and communicating with us constantly. On a project of this size, unexpected issues are inevitable, but they were always responsive, calm, and willing to jump in whenever something came up. We always knew what was happening, and they made us feel like a priority throughout the entire process.
> What impressed us most was that even with all the surprises that come with renovating an older home, the project stayed within the timeline they originally gave us and within the budget expectations we discussed upfront. From experience with other contractors on much smaller projects in the past, this is no small feat.
>
> Beyond the quality of the work, we genuinely enjoyed working with everyone on the team. They care about what they do, they care about their clients, and it shows. The end result exceeded our expectations, we love our home, and would recommend Stan and team to anyone considering a renovation, addition, or new build.

**★★★★★ — Ilana Vendryes, June 2023**

> Stan and his team were beyond amazing! Living in Florida, I heard horror stories about the remodeling process which left me super nervous about it. Schachne firm made the whole process seamless. Everything was organized, explained clearly, we had no major hiccups and the whole process took about 8-9 months to complete. I had a clear vision of what I wanted and Donna was incredible at guiding me, never forceful with her opinion and very professional. The project managers were always on site and were the best at answering all of my silly questions and took care of any issues swiftly and efficiently. We had to move into our house towards the end of construction and everyone made sure the house was always safe for my kids to reside in. Things were always clean and neatly stowed away. I’m already planning my next project and I will only go with Schachne. They are the best!

> Extremely pleased with our selection of Schachne Architect & Builders to handle the "down to the studs" renovation of our house in LBTS. Both the design and build phases went smoothly, as did permitting and interfacing with the Town. It was a pleasure to work with the entire team, including Stan (overall project), Dain (drawings/plans), Donna (interior finishes), as well as Jeremy (Project Mgr.) and Nicole (Asst. Proj. Mgr.). At least one team member was always available to answer questions at any time. Updates and communications (including project timeline, milestones and progress photos) were timely and unambiguous. Also, the value of this company having its own team of subcontractors is exponential. Very happy with the end result.

> We are extremely happy that we chose Schachne Architects and Builders to design and build an addition onto our home. They were recommended to us by a close friend who successfully completed 2 projects with them. We started our project in the midst of Covid which we were afraid would be stressful, however, the entire team guided us and made sure everything was done as quickly and efficiently as possible. The quality of the work is excellent and the level of service, communication and involvement from design through completion is extraordinary. Stan and Donna designed a beautiful, functional space that enhances the existing structure of our home completing a 20 year dream for our family. Donna handheld us through all the design decisions offering many options and guidance. Additionally, Jeremy, our project manager, did an incredible job managing the day-to-day operations of our project. He was always there when we needed him and always had solutions. Jeremy also ensured minimal interruptions to our family making the construction a breeze,
> We highly recommend Schachne Architects to anyone looking to improve their home.

> We could not be happier with our decision to use Schachne Architects and Builders to design and build an addition onto our home. The quality of the work is top notch and the level of communication and involvement from design through completion was unrivaled. Stan and Donna designed a beautiful, functional space that blends seamlessly into the existing structure of our house. Additionally, Jeremy, our project manager, did an incredible job managing the day-to-day construction of the project. He was extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and communicative. He coordinated with the various trade subcontractors to minimize any inconvenience to our family, ensured safe social distancing practices, and carefully evaluated all work for conformance with the design and good workmanship. We look forward to using their services again for any future home improvement projects.

> If you are looking for a reliable, honest, and top notch builder, Stan Schachne is an easy choice. After wasting several months and a couple thousand dollars with an architect from my softball league, my wife went to the Town of Davie Building department looking for a recommendation. "You will be very happy if you can get Stan Schachne" She was told by an inspector. We reached out to Stan, reviewed his past work, and met several times to go over our vision. One year later, I could not be happier with our decision. We built on a new master suite and an office during the height of the Pandemic, which Stan and his crew managed tremendously. We highly recommend Stan!

**★★★★★ — Jim Rizzo, Dec. 2020**

> Top Quality All of the Way Through.
>
> It has been a pleasure working with Schachne Architects and Builders on our whole home remodel. From the initial meeting with Stan, we felt we were in good hands. Having never undertaken a project such as this, Stan and his team guided us along, giving us options and helping us develop solutions to create an ideal space for us. They worked with us tirelessly to understand our needs and to translate those wants and needs into a functional and beautiful home. While Dain developed print and beautiful 3-D renderings, Donna spent many hours working on floor plan development, cabinetry design and helping us choose the right fixtures and colors to bring those renderings to life. Her design knowledge allowed us to make the best choices for the look we desired. Stan and Jeremy were amazing in navigating all aspects of the construction process from demolition to move-in. They maintained open communication with us on every aspect of the project and allowed us to reach out to them at any time with issues, questions or ideas. Their understanding of codes and of construction itself gave us tremendous peace of mind that our home was being built properly and securely, especially important in hurricane prone south Florida. We would highly recommend Schachne Architects and Builders to anyone seeking a quality design-build firm for any project they wish to undertake.

**★★★★★ — jillswhitehouse, Dec. 2020**

> Our experience with Schachne Architects and Builders was fantastic and we give our strongest recommendation! They designed and completed a major renovation of our house including all new plumbing, electrical, and four new bedrooms and three bathrooms. Stan, Donna, Dane, and Jeremy were very professional, on-time, courteous, and innovative. Our renovation began one month before COVID struck and we were very impressed with the safe and healthy workplace environment they maintained as well as keeping the project on-time and on-budget. 5 stars all the way, can’t wait to call them back for our next big project!

**★★★★★ — Brian Nelson, Sept. 2020**

> Stan and the entire team at Schachne Architects have been very professional and detailed thru the entire process. We had them thru the design, permit and construction phase and couldn't be any happier with our decision to use his team. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for remodeling or new construction....and actually have recommended them to close friends.

**★★★★★ — KIRSTIN ANDERSON, Jan. 2020**

> We utilized Schachne Architects & Builders for our remodel and we are immensely pleased with the outcome of the project. From the start Stan was very professional, responsive, and probably most important patient. He worked with us, listening to what we were hoping to accomplish with the remodel and created a plan that worked to achieve what we were looking for. Throughout the project working with Donna, Ken, and Jeremy we had that same level of competency that provided reassurance and gave us complete confidence in them. As we worked closely with Jeremy throughout the project it would be remiss of me if I did not acknowledge his attentiveness and cautiousness in avoiding mistakes. We felt he played an integral part in the success of the project. We highly recommend Schachne Architects & Builders without reservation and plan to utilize them in our future projects.

**★★★★★ — Rob Gravis, Nov. 2019**

> Schachne Architects + Builders came highly recommended by our neighbors who had used them for two renovations. I can't give enough praise for Stan and his entire team. They are creative, dependable, trustworthy, friendly, easy to work with, communicative, and the quality of their work is impeccable. They delivered our project on time, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Many thanks to Stan, Donna, Jeremy, and Dain for a job well done!

**★★★★★ — Spence & Ann Kershaw, April 2019**

> We found Schachne Architects & Builders’ website through online reviews and sent an inquiry through email. Stan called us right away and the next day we met with their team to talk about our whole house remodel/expansion. We left that meeting confident they were the company to shepherd our project through concept design and construction – a one stop shop with a professional team of architects, designers, project managers and top notch subcontractors. We cannot emphasize enough the benefits we experienced of having an architect and general contractor being the same company. Stan and Donna’s team streamlined the process, communications and completions through the complex South Florida building codes which we learned are some of the toughest in the nation. It was also so helpful to have Donna’s interior design knowledge to create a truly superior living space. She guided us every step of the way by scheduling appointments in showrooms, sending us ideas, meeting fabricators and synchronizing details with our own conceptual ideas. On-site, Jeremy, Dane and Ken were all very hands on and worked daily to ensure our utmost satisfaction right down to the slightest detail. We absolutely love our new home and we cannot thank Schachne’s enough!

  - Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
  - Photos: 11
  - Description: The owner requested that the house design exemplify a traditional home but must have an abundance of natural light. We designed and built this 4,000 square foot three bedroom, three bathroom with bonus room and second floor loft on the water in Fort Lauderdale in 2024. The original 1950's house was demolished and the new house was designed to meet the new FEMA flood height requirements. A new pool and dock was also completed.
- [Cool Cool](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cool-cool-pj-vj~2528686)
  - Location: Davie, FL
  - Photos: 32
  - Description: The owner had numerous goals for his house addition. He wanted to add a mother in law quarter, four car garage, family room, two additional bedrooms, full guest bathroom and renovate the pool and pool deck. One disturbing issue was that the existing tall glass wall at the existing house entry allowed people passing by to look directly into the house. We solved this issue by adding the mother in law quarter and four car garage to the front of the house and redirecting the entrance to the front do…

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 33
  - Description: This two story 3,000 s.f. four bedroom house is situated on the ocean on the west coast of the island of Bonaire. The owner wished that the house be a narrow design so all spaces could be opened to take advantage of the ocean breezes and every space had to have a view of the ocean. The cross currents alleviate the use of air conditioning and the wide overhangs provide shade of the outside patio's. Natural materials of the island were integrated into the design as well as the simplistic structura…

  - Description: Our repeat client purchased this slightly larger 2,700 s.f. condo with a better ocean view in an adjacent building to a condo renovation we did for them five years prior. The owners wanted to demolish the complete interior, open up the kitchen to the living room area and incorporate some of the custom features we built prior but with a updated home automation system that supported lighting, win…

  - Location: Plantation, FL
  - Photos: 12
  - Description: The existing kitchen had a finished ceiling height of 7’-10”. The space had minimal natural light and was broken up with cabinets hanging from the ceiling dividing the kitchen from the dining area and along the exterior wall. The existing space felt very dark and oppressive. The client wanted to open the entire area and eliminate the kitchen dining table. She loves to cook and wanted to have a central hub for everyone to be together. With an adjacent dining room, she wanted a large island for th…

  - Description: The goal of the owner was for a design to provide a complete outdoor working kitchen and social gathering area for friends and business associates during the Covid pandemic. The difficulty was tying the structure into the existing pool screen enclosure to make one contiguous space between the new outside kitchen and existing pool area and enclosing the remainder of the kitchen wall openings with screen walls. We were asked to design and build a 650 s.f. two bedroom addition with a Jack & Jill bathroom and convert an existing bedroom into a new playroom.
