This was a decent size order which should have commanded an attention to detail. > > The tile was quoted with a mesh backing, it was shipped with a clear plastic film over the face of the tile. Pratt and Larson said they moved away from mesh to plastic film. They said they film allowed for more contact of tile to mortar. They stacked the tile on top of each other in a box with a couple pieces of paper around the product. This caused the hex tile to fall apart during shipping. There were over 29,800 hex tiles. FYI there is a dot backing that is superior but cost more. > > The hex tile was missing a row on the tiles labeled B, The tiles also were missed labeled, Pratt and Larson also shorted the quantities that were delivered. Not only were sheets of tile were missed labels but the hex tile were out of order in the sheets. > > This was a complete disaster. Pratt and Larson shipped the missing tile and said they did there part. Post sale customer service is absolutely horrible. **Comment from Pratt + Larson:** > All projects regardless of size or cost are important to us. > We are very sorry that we were unable to meet your request for a refund on your order of custom handmade tile. We acknowledge that we made a mistake in the layout of the mosaic pattern and that we missed two of the boxes when we shipped the order; in response we sent the material via second day air at our expense and with our sincere apologies. Add to this mishap the fact that the original order was poorly handled by the shipping company (the boxes showed considerable damage) and we certainly understand your frustrations. When it became clear that there were a number of loose pieces and that the sheets had been damaged by the shippers, compounded with the pattern placement error, we offered to have all the sheets shipped back and reassembled using the mesh mounting process your team prefers, at our expense. This offer was rejected. > We spend a tremendous amount of time and effort on our product, and always work hard to make it right the first time. On rare occasions things don’t go to plan.
