> Our home is on the water with a significant grade and we wished to have a "Living retaining wall" designed and installed.  Joe Kramer was a true artist in his design as well as behind the wheel of his equipment.    Our project was completed on time and within budget.  It was completed 10 years ago and every paver, stone stair case, water feature, bolder are in place and as secure as ever.  I have done nothing to the water feature in these 10 years and runs and looks as good as ever.

> We hired Joe at the start of our pool project.  We wanted much more than a basic pool in the backyard.  He designed the pool as the focal point to my tropical oasis (yes, complete with hardy and tropical palms), pavers, and a large "beach" .  The design for the beach was more revolved around the kids' swingset and play area but with the forethought they would not always be little and sized to become a beach volleyball court eventually with access to a pool house.  That transition occurred this year and continues to add to our fun here in "Paradise".  He was great to work with and took into account our budget and our future plans.  He created a plan we could do in steps that would always seem finished.  He and his crew were wonderful with the kids and very tolerant of interested children underfoot (and my son who was fascinated with all the big equipment)   We highly recommend Joe and Creative Land Design.

> Excavate & lay varying sized pavers for an approximates 900 sq ft drive way, parking area & walk way. Slopes in three directions had to be accommodated to provide proper drainage.  In more than ten years since installation the pavers have remainded secure, having not sunk or moved one millimeter.  The pavers themselves are of excellent quality, looking as good as the day they were layed.

> Joe and his team installed a natural retaining "wall" system in my back yard.  I put quotes around the word wall because it is not a wall at all.  Using tons and tons of large boulders, Joe built a natural rock landscape that is holding up a large hillside of trees and soil.  The original wood retaining wall system spanned 10 feet from the bottom of my yard to the top of the wall and had begun to fail, necessitating a new wall.  After months of dealing with landscapers who wanted to install industrial strength, and industrial ugly, walls at a significant cost, we decided to work with Joe.  The result is remarkable both structurally and aesthetically.  It is truly something you would advertise as part of the reason to buy the house.  And the other contractors were flakes compared to Joe.  Not only did the boulders work out great but Joe worked a waterfall feature in to the design as well as natural steps for access to the top of the yard.  You really have to see pictures to do it justice.

**Q: Our front yard** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you share what the purple ground cover is and when it blooms.

A: sorry- missed this. It is Ajuga 'chocolate chips'- blooms in spring

**Q: Are these Japanese irises? Where were they obtained?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We have a spring fed pond and would like to introduce some color and variety. (Zone 7)

A: Sorry Tommy...missed this. Those are variegated iris plants..., very slow but quite pretty.
