> Nickolas John Interiors helped us change our house from the country style home that we bought to the modern style home that we wanted.  He has a wonderful ability to see what will work in the space that you have.  He helped us create a one of kind built in TV area and a unique surround for a fireplace.  He changed all the light fixtures in our home, found bedroom and living room furniture, and even did a bathroom remodel.  I love so many of the aspects of our house.  But the most significant yet subtle change was the paints he chose for our walls and ceilings.  We have many colors in our house but they all flow perfectly from room to room emphasizing the parts of the house we like and de-emphasizng the qualities we don't like.  He was easy to work with and patient when we offered our suggestions.  People compliment us on our home all the time.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Choosing wood floor color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can I get suggestions for a wood floor color in my great room and kitchen? The house is in the Colorado Rockies and has pine ceilings and walls. We want to replace the beige carpet with wood flooring but don't know weather to choose a dark wood or try to blend  a wood with the existing walls. Help please!

A: Typically I advise a shade or 2 darker when going with a room that has a lot of wood in it. The slight but not over powering contrast will provide interest and dimension while matching it will keep it flat and envelope-ish.  With pine ceilings and walls I would try a floor like hickory for its long grain and consistent stain. Its also nearly as hard as Oak, without the oppressive pattering. Good Luck!

A: To the right of refrigerator is a pantry for dry goods, to the left the appliance garage has an outlet and houses the clients rice cooker. Very functional.

**Q: What is the stain color used for Kitchen Cabinet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Color is beautiful!

A: These are a hand wiped espresso finish cabinet, from the MFG Depere Cabinets.
