> Michael Hadley was an excellent architect for our home. He was well aware of the Architectural Guidelines of the development in which we were building and knew the city codes governing the construction. He also knew the city engineering department which would be evaluating the design and was able to expedite approvals as needed to keep to schedules.

Michael is definitely NOT a prima donna.  Thoroughly professional, hard-working, and responsive, he made our home build experience a true pleasure.  When changes were needed, Michael promptly created the necessary drawings. He offered creative suggestions throughout the process.  As a result, our home functions even better than we had imagined.  In fact, after six years in residence, we love our home more every single day.  Michael's design is architecturally interesting and reflects our tastes perfectly. > T. Michael Hadley & Associates designed our custom home in Santa Fe, NM.  The architect took our rough idea sketched on a scrap of paper and turned it into a masterpiece!  Though he offered many ideas and suggestions, it was clear that the architect wanted this to be OUR home just the was WE wanted it.  The process was efficient but with plenty of opportunity for us to be involved. The architect did a great job managing through complicated city regulations and community association rules to create a home with just the look and feel we were seeking.  He worked well with the builder and other professionals involved in the construction of our home to solve problems and move the project forward.  He was professional, creative, skillful and always a good listener who took time to answer questions, give suggestions, and consider alternatives.

**Q: decorating diva** *(in Photo Questions)*

where can I get those pendants?

A: The owners selected all of the lighting.  I'll try to find out where they were purchased.  Most likely a lighting store in Santa Fe.

**Q: What color is the paint?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The paint started as Sherwin-Williams SW6298 Concerto, but I believe we added a little grey to it to tone it down just slightly.  It was a custom blend.  I may have a little of it left, if you would like to have a sample.

**Q: Have the owners been happy with the decision to go purple?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We have been considering this exterior color.  I haven't seen many homes that fully embraced it so I have also thought about just going heavy in my trim but I think I would blend nicely with the local mesquite and live oak in central Texas.

A: Thanks for your question.  Yes, the owners have been very happy with the color.  It's a nice variation from the typical browns and tans that are commonly seen in southwestern adobe style architecture.  I have designed a new home in Sedona for some clients, and they have chosen a similar color for their home.  The idea, of course, is to keep the purple tone somewhat subdued.  Too much red and/or too much blue should be reduced in favor of a basic greyed down purple.  We have some native prickly pear cactus that are nearly identical in color.

A: I've contacted the owner, who has the record of the color used.  It was an integral stucco color.

**Q: Love the garage door, would you happen to recall the maker? Thank you** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe that the door is by Holmes Garage Doors, "Glenmoor Collection".  The wood is not real, but is a wood-grain composite cladding over an insulated steel door.  The door appears to be hinged, but is actually a standard overhead door.

**Q: I absolutely love the blanket on the bed. Where did you get it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The bedspread came from Santa Fe Bedding, now out of business.  But, similar things may be found at Pandora's in Santa Fe.  Look at custom weavings by Sergio Martinez, and you'll see some nice artisan work.
