## Community Q&A

**Q: cabinet hardware** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi - installing a light cream colored cabinet in the kitchen. River white granite, driftwood color flooring. What hardware color would look better bronze or satin nickel?

A: I think it all depends on what look you like the best. The bronze will contrast nicely with your cream cabinets, but satin nickel will also look nice.Good luck with your project!

**Q: Hardware** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can you mix brushed nickel hardware and oil brushed Bronze vanity lights?

A: If you like the way it looks together, of course!

**Q: New house cabinet pull question.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Should you use one color for house door handle/knobs and same for kitchen cabinets and drawer pulls. I have oil rubbed bronze for all my faucets and entry doorknobs throughout the house, but wanted to use Crome pulls for kitchen cabinets and drawer pulls throughout . Any suggestion? Keep them all the same?

A: At the end of the day, you should choose the finishes that you like, since you're the one who has to see them all the time!
It's not uncommon to mix and match finishes either - chrome or nickel in the kitchen or bath and another finish elsewhere in the house.
Maybe you could include other chrome elements in the kitchen to help tie in the cabinet hardware?
Good luck with your project!

**Q: Advice on bathrooms faucets and hardware** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are remodeling our bathroom. An associate from a bath store told me oil rubbed faucets and hardware are "out". Is that true?
Also where is a good place to start? It's so overwhelming.

A: In our experience, people are definitely still picking oil-rubbed/vintage/dark bronze hardware.
A good starting point is the bigger, not-as-easily-changed pieces: vanity, sink, toilet, shower, etc., since you probably won't want to update those every few years. Once you have the "bones" picked out, you can choose things like towel bars, paint colors, etc.
There are lots of styles and options to choose from - good luck with the project!

**Q: Kitchen nobs** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm building a traditional kitchen ,where the cabinets r beige with the black lines ,and island is dark brown, any ideas with which nice nobes to go with ,Tia

A: There are lots of ideas out there - here are a few options to consider. Also, if you want to avoid the issue with oil-rubbed bronze that gabeandsky mentioned, you may want to look at something in a vintage bronze, rather than a true oil-rubbed, which is designed to weather and change with time and use.

Good luck with your project!

**Q: kitchen checklist** *(in Design Dilemma)*
