It's a large space for a backyard in NYC being 3 brownstones wide. The builders had given very little thought to landscaping the property. It actually had a jail yard feeling with it's plain cement walls and pebbled ground. The pebbles didn't make it very inviting to sit out there. My yard looked onto 3 very unatractive yards. I immediatley liked Brook upon our meeting. He has a very laid back way about him. We discussed my ideas and he came back a couple of weeks later with plans and drawings. He really implemented what I asked for. I wanted privacy so he designed and built a beautiful fence that the other owners in the building thanked me for because it improved their views as well. He replaced the pebbles on the upper level with flagstone which is a huge improvement. I wanted the planting to be lush with a feeling of over grown.. Brook gave me that as well as planting ivy which has almost covered all the ugly cement walls I'm VERY happy that Brook Landscaping did the job and at this point I can't imagine anyone else maintaining the yard. **★★★★★ — kimswink, March 2015** > Brook Landscaping et al., were the absolute best decision we have made in our entire Harlem brownstone renovation process.
