In addition to building homes, we are also a full service general contractor and are able to take on any project large or small.  We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, finishing basements and adding other improvements that will increase the value of your home.

William (“Willie”) Cronin is President of Blackwater Valley Development, Inc. and is a very experienced and professional custom home builder and general contractor. He also specializes in home improvement projects from kitchens to bathrooms and everything in between.  

Willie emigrated from Ireland in the early 90's and immediately put his carpentry background to use. Having worked in the carpentry trade for 8 years he began to build single family homes. He has built homes in Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale and Palatine.

He also has done extensive home improvement projects for clients as well as office rehabs and Code Compliance work. 

Business Philosophy:
Willie's experience and expertise is on guiding clients who desire custom work for their homes.  Willie's background in general contracting and carpentry makes him uniquely qualified to discuss and suggest plans and ensure they are within the desired budget. Willie’s foremost concern is that you get the results that you planned and expected. Willie does this with communication and professionalism throughout the life of the project.

> We had Willie update our drab basement into a more sleek and modern one. I found Willie on here. I had interviewed other contractors also but Willie came across as most direct and honest. Also, I liked his team of professionals. They all did quality work. From the beginning of the job till the end he handled all the details and kept subcontractors on task. He was very communicable to me and made sure to follow up on things we wanted.  I would definitely use him again for other projects in my home and recommend him to my friends.

> I am the second owner of a house built by Blackwater Valley Development and Willie Cornin. The house was built in 2007 and we took ownership from the first owners in 2013. When we went looking for a house, we must have looked over 60+ houses over a 2 year period. In the end, Willie's house really stood out for us. The house layout was so well thought out. The appliances installed were top notch. The decorations and quality of workmanship both inside and out, to this day, really impress other people that come see our house. They put lots of details into the interior finishes that you don't often see in other houses. We have had various contractors out to our house doing small jobs here and there, and we have been told several times how solidly the house was built. While I did not work with Blackwater Valley Development building the home, I can certainly vouch for the quality of the work they did on our house.

> Blackwater built the spec house that we live in.  It was finished when we first saw it and fell in love at first sight with the quality and the obvious workmanship that went into building the house.  Eight years later, we're still in love with the house as there have been virtually zero issues.  The house is solidly built and the attention to detail in every facet was meticulous.  You never know what you're going to get with a spec house, but what we got was a complete gem.  I'd recommend Willie Cronin and Blackwater to anyone looking for an amazing builder.
