We hired Kurt Dys of Diamond Built to build our new home in the summer of 2020. We FIRED him for BREACH OF CONTRACT on February 10, 2022. After 16 months of him treating us in the most disrespectful manner, consistently overcharging us thousands of dollars above the contracted price for multiple items, taking money from us through our bank for work performed by multiple subcontractors and not paying the subcontrators, purposefully stalling the build for months at a time, being the direct cause of cabinets taking 9 months to arrive because he fired the first cabinet company for exposing him with double charging us for cabinets that were already included in the plans, consistently not communicating information about our home, and taking it upon himself to make decisions without consulting us or changing decisions we made unbeknownst to us regarding the building supplies, designs, and colors of finishes. Do your due diligence by researching everything you can about him on the internet before deciding to hire him or his company. For instance, notice all of his other reviews posted before this one. Only one is of a recent build and when they posted he hadn't even completed their home. His superintendents told us that this family along with many others were ultimately dissatisfied with Kurt/Diamond Built. He started this company approximately 4 years ago and NOT even one of his homeowners that he’s built a home for during this time has posted a positive review about him on his company facebook page or on Google reviews. Building 1 was completed in March 2006, Building 2 in approximately 2007 and Building 3 in 2008. Kurt and his crew were working with 4 attorneys on this project. Not an easy task. The construction is very sound and besides a few hurdles thanks to the county, all went very well. The buildings are very sound and we have had no issues in the nearly 14 years since we move in with the exception of the normal wear and tear, such as the AC - but this is Florida and we all know that happens.
