> I was introduced to Joanna through our contractors, prior to our project start date. From the very first meeting, Joanna’s organization, professional and pleasant demeanor were evident. We had a complex project, ours was not a complete demo but a complete remodel of our entire 1920s home, so in a sense more complex than a tear down because we had to blend the old and new. The project could not have turned out as beautifully without Joanna’s careful tracking and organization. For example, we had to replace ~ 60 windows, 25 doors (interior and exterior) and entire house of new cabinets (kitchen, mudroom, all bathrooms, and office). The level of tracking and details that are required needs attention to detail (windows/doors opening, up vs down, to the right vs to the left, what side is hardware etc.). Joanna developed detailed excel, sheets, budget tracking tools and was very consistent on top of the timelines so that we selected materials and ordered in time for our project. In addition, Joanna designed a custom storage system in my new office/sewing room with a built-in sewing cabinet that disappears behind paneled doors. She expertly sourced and worked with exterior vendors to design a custom front door, custom garage door, and overhauled our storage system in our garage. Joanna took me to as many vendors as I wanted but if I felt overwhelmed, she selected materials based on my style/feedback, while providing me with choices I might not have known about. There are so many examples of how Joanna went out of her way to be helpful and narrow our selection. An example that comes to mind is when ordered exterior lights from New Orleans, clearly, we could not travel to see the product but to help us visualize/understand the size, Joanna built a model out of cardboard to demonstrate the scale to help us know what would work with our home. Even after we moved back, Joanna has graciously followed up on some vendors that we needed some minor adjustments. I would not hesitate to recommend Joanna (a former engineer, which makes sense why she is so detailed) for any project. She is a joy to work with and I would collaborate with her again on any project.

> Joanna was a great designer to work with, and we LOVE how our project turned out. We worked with her to redesign our kitchen and two bathrooms this past spring. During our initial meeting, she carefully reviewed the existing layout in-person and got to know our vision for the overall project. She followed all Covid safety protocols and we even held meetings outdoors when necessary. In subsequent onsite meetings, she provided 3D drawings of the spaces and worked with us to select the layout we liked best. She handled all of the calculations for measurements, flooring, fixtures… everything! She proposed clever changes that we might not have been able to imagine on our own, adding windows, shower seating, and changing entryways and appliance locations with a keen attention to building codes and design aesthetics. There were countless instances where her expertise prevented us from making some amateur mistakes. After the design process, she accompanied us on trips to vendors to select fixtures and materials. Many times, she would already be waiting for us at the showroom with materials already selected based on our previous conversations. Once the project began, she dropped into the construction site on a regular basis to interface with vendors and ensure that the contractors were executing the plans properly. No job was too small for her, she even helped us select grout colors.
