**Q: Bathroom vanity in an alcove - tile the left and right walls?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi, I have a bathroom being built where there will be a dual sink vanity sitting in an alcove. There will likely be two recessed medicine cabinets used as mirrors for the room. The bathroom will be used by two young kids and I am concerned about water splashing, toothpaste flying, etc. I figured we would tile the whole wall behind the vanity for ease of cleaning, but I'm a bit torn on tiling the left and right side walls. The vanity we purchased has no backsplash at all around the unit. What do people typically do in this situation?

The room isn't built yet, but here are two examples of the alcove vanity situation I am talking about: 





And here's the vanity we purchased (note the lack of any backsplash):

A: I would tile all three walls but just to the mirror. However, it is really up to you. No backsplash will still look good.
