> I love the addition! Very pleased with all aspects of the project; Lisa was easy to work with and brought many thoughtful added touches. We're currently brainstorming our next project with her.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Thank you so much, Anne for your review. It's always a pleasure working with you as a client with a very clear vision. My pleasure to continue designing with you. Lisa

**★★★★★ — Andrew Green, May 2018**

> I would highly recommend the team of Paul and Lisa at Paul's Woodshop after working with them on our kitchen and living room renovation. From start to finish, we were given expert and experienced advice covering all the various complex details revolving around this massive undertaking. Our project included, flooring, appliances, gas lines, counters, cabinets and a sink along with a newly designed center island and wall extension to accommodate our vision.
> From a design stand-point Lisa provided us options and thoughts on what potential materials to use, the positive and negatives of each and how it would flow from surface to surface and transform our vision for the area to the final completion of the project. We couldn't be more pleased.
> From a master craftsman standpoint, Paul's passionate work and of those individual experts subcontracted out to complete parts of the project, was impeccable to say the least. Every single appointment we had scheduled with any of them saw them arrive on time or early. With the two of us working full-time it was critical for people to show up on time and complete their jobs in the proposed time line, these individuals all to the person, were on time and did excellent work as part of the overall project.
> In conclusion, when the project was complete, my wife and I could not find a single thing that needed even the slightest tweaking or redoing across the entire project, the best type of recommendation a general contractor could have in my option.
> I once again highly recommend the team at Paul's Woodshop for any project you may need top quality work for.

**★★★★★ — Ann Marie Green, May 2018**

> Paul’s Woodshop did an outstanding job on our kitchen renovation. We will definitely be contacting them for our next project. Lisa was patient with all our changes to the design and Paul made sure the house stayed as clean as possible while the work was in progress. All of the sub-contractors were respectful of our home and we would be glad to work with any of them again.

**★★★★★ — Marianne Rainey, April 2018**

> Paul's Woodshop is a great organization. Very reliable, excellent work, and reasonably priced. Paul is a true craftsman with the highest attention to detail. Paul's Woodshop made my kitchen GORGEOUS, and I plan on using their services for future projects.

**★★★★★ — Nan Steketee, Aug. 2017**

> Paul and Lisa did a Master Bedroom suite for us and they did an outstanding job. They were clear from the beginning what they needed from us and what they would provide. They worked quickly and thoughtfully, allowing consultation with us along the way. They hired excellent subcontractors whose work also pleased us. They cleaned up daily. It was a delight working with them.

**★★★★★ — Charles Arensberg, Aug. 2017**

> Paul and Lisa were not only a joy to work with, but their professionalism and expertise are unmatched. They work with each client to more fully develop ideas and dreams and follow-up afterwards to ensure quality and satisfaction. We plan to use them again in the near future for a full kitchen remodel.

> We hired Paul’s Woodshop (Paul & Lisa) for 6 of our home renovation projects since 2004, each time with fantastic results. I can’t say enough good things about both of them. Construction is never easy and most times can be quite challenging on many fronts, however, 4 years after my last project with them, we can still say to anyone who asks that we highly recommend both of them. We couldn’t have been happier with what they have done in our home over the last 12 years. Below are the projects we completed with them.
>
> Project \#1: A complete house re-trim (new baseboards, casings, window and door trim) for a 3 story historic home. In our whole house remodel, we wanted to match the original profiles as closely as possible. One challenge involved the replacement of our windows. The new windows were SDL (simulated divided lite) windows, but the munitions had a more prominent profile than in the original metal casement windows with their flat muntins. In consultation with Paul, we made slight adjustments to the height, weight and width of some of the new trim profiles to create more visual balance between the new windows and the new trim we installed throughout the house. By keeping the style but changing the proportions with Paul’s guidance, we created the feel of historical accuracy and blended the new trim with the new windows, creating a perfect balance between the two elements. We couldn’t have been happier with Paul’s suggestions and the final product. For us, it was this level of attention to detail that made taking on our other projects with Paul and Lisa much easier.
>
> Project \#2: Built-in media cabinet in the Family Room: I took a carpenter’s level and ‘drew’ on the wall what I wanted Paul to build---showing shelves, drawers, TV location, etc. A few weeks later, Paul came back and in a few days site built my ~8 ft. long bookshelves and entertainment unit. Paul incorporated some of the trim details in our home into the bookshelves to make them look like they were here since the 1920’s. We had the lower doors fitted with leaded glass panels to mimic some of the details already found in our home which makes the bookshelves look like they have always been here. Couldn’t have been happier with the final product.
>
> Project \#3: Living Room Coffee Table: We needed our coffee table to do double duty—as both a coffee table for our living room and for storage. Specifically for storage of the (3) additional leafs for our new Dining Room table. Paul designed a Stickley styled coffee table with interior felt lined slats to create upright storage of the table leafs. Easy storage and conveniently accessible when having a big party.
>
> Project \#4: Living Room Coat Closet: The remodeling of our kitchen and dining area necessitated the removal of the only coat closet on the first floor. We had Paul design a new coat closet to replace an old bookshelf behind the front door. Paul made it slightly deeper with double doors and coat hooks on the interior. It now serves as the coat closet in the winter and patio & picnic table storage in the summer months. Again, Paul incorporated existing trim elements into the coat closet design creating another seemingly original built-in piece in our Living Room.
>
> Project \#5: New stairs from the lower level to the 1st floor: We had Paul remove the stair treads and risers from our lower level to the 1st floor, changing the stair run from a ¾ run with landing to a full flight of stairs. We got rid of ugly painted stairs with the ‘head knocker’ 90 degree turn at the lower level landing and replaced them with Oak treads and risers. The new treads and risers matched the wood floors in the rest of the house and at the bottom of the steps, Paul installed a new handrail to match our handrail on the upper floor. Completely seamless, you no longer bump your head on the lower landing and the stairs look like they has always been there.
>
> Project \#6: Master Bedroom Built-In Cabinet: I met with Paul and Lisa to discuss how we wanted to remove a freestanding piece of furniture and replace it with a wall to wall built-in armoire with side drawers to maximize clothing storage in a not so ‘Masterly’ sized master bedroom. The overall goal, was to create a design in keeping with our 1920’s Tudor home and maximize storage. Paul & Lisa worked with us to design a truly beautiful and extremely functional bedroom built-in storage unit. After taking lots of measurements and fine-tuning the design, Paul and Lisa came back a few weeks later and in 1 day installed the built-in unit. Paul and Lisa built the units off-site, matched the color to our existing trim color and incorporated trim pieces and details from our existing home into the design. When they left at the end of the day it looked like it had always been there and we had a LOT more storage then we could have ever gotten using free-standing furniture pieces. For us, this was the real win—it blended seamlessly and gave us the storage we really needed.
>
> Overall we are very happy customers of Paul’s Woodshop. Paul and Lisa have been instrumental in helping us achieve the vision we had when we bought our home. We could not have done it without both of you and we love what you helped us create. Thank you.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Chris & Charlie: Thanks so much for this review. We especially appreciate you having shared some of the details that our aging brains have started to lose. :) As always it's fun collaborating on your home projects since you all are very design focused. You allow us to guide you along the way but in reality we are transforming your very clear vision into a finished product that reflects your design sensibilities. Thanks so much, Lisa & Paul.

> Lisa & Paul saved my front porch (vintage 1920's) from falling off the house & restored it to how it must have looked when the house was built. Gorgeous!
> The next big project was my third floor bathroom, which hadn't worked (flushed!) in a decade & had no work done to it in much longer than that. It was a big job; walls, floors, ceiling, plumbing, electrical, paint - you name it, they tackled it!
> They incorporated all my ideas, stayed with the period of the house, worked within a reasonable timeline, & now I have the most beautiful bathroom anywhere, as well as a lovely adjoining sewing room. Sometimes I just stand in the space & admire! An absolute pleasure working with Lisa & Paul - wouldn't use anyone else.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Thank you Cindy! It's always a pleasure working with you. And Paul & I are so happy to hear you're so pleased with your new bathroom. See you soon.

> We hired Lisa and Paul to remodel our kitchen. It was no easy feat, including removing walls, stripping the existing room down to the studs and reconfiguring the layout in whole. They gave us great options and visuals to help in making our decisions. They were responsive and had the highest regard for their work product. I would absolutely use them and their expertise in the future next time I have a house project. Thanks to you both.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Thanks for the kind review Maureen & Chris. We certainly enjoyed working with you both on what turned out to be quite a dramatic kitchen makeover. We always enjoy looking at the before & after shots of the remodels we do. So, congrats on making some really nice choices for the project that gave your kitchen overall wow factor. All the best! Paul & Lisa

> Dave and I were very happy with all the projects Paul's Woodshop did for us. First it was our kitchen and we love it so much, they helped us along the way and were very helpful when we had questions. Second, was our porch which we had our old windows removed and screens added. Third was our built in entertainment center that Paul built for us in our family room. We have gained so much useful space in that room because of the entertainment center. Overall we would highly recommend hiring them for any other projects that we need done at our house.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Heather & Dave: We are very glad to hear that all these projects we worked on with you have enhanced your family's living space. Dave's idea to utilize the space at the old fireplace for your built-in was quite forward thinking. You both were a pleasure to work with. Take care! Lisa & Paul

**★★★★★ — Suzanne, March 2015**

> We hired Paul's Woodshop to renovate the outdated kitchen of our vacation condo, and they did the work while we were overseas. I had never used a designer before, and was nervous about the process, but Lisa put me immediately at ease. She considered my ideas, and then improved upon them, resulting in a much more beautiful and usable space than I had previously imagined. Lisa was wonderful about keeping me in the loop and communicating with me at all stages of the renovation process, despite the fact that I was halfway around the world and on a 12-hour time difference. Paul did an amazing job with the custom built-in wood table, which I never would have come up with on my own. Their tiling contractor was meticulous in his work as well; I've never seen such a perfect backsplash! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Lisa and Paul and can't recommend them highly enough. If we hadn't moved out of the area, we would be hiring them for lots more projects!

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Suzanne & Mark: A good deal of credit goes to you all for being so organized & decisive in making your decisions & selections before you had to leave the country. From our perspective as your design/build contractor that translated into a very smooth-running construction project. We appreciate that you entrusted us with your residence when you were not there. And we agree the end product was an amazing kitchen & dining space. All the best in your travels. Lisa & Paul

> We hired Paul's Woodshop to install wainscoting in our dining room. We were very pleased with the quality of the workmanship provided. They are timely, professional, clean, and a pleasure to work with. We plan on hiring Paul's Woodshop again to complete more projects in our home.

**Comment from Vibrant Design Build:**

> Katie & Mike: We truly appreciate working with your family & thanks so much for your kind review. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
