> Pam was incredibly helpful to create our dream kitchen. She helped us choose an gorgeous slab for our island, the beautiful chandelier above it as well as the kitchen table. Pam is also amazing at choosing paint colors and pulling it all together. Pam is so easy to work with, creative, and definitely thinks outside of the box.

> Pamela went above & beyond what we expected. We hired her to redesign elements in our home we when we needed to relocate. She provided great suggestions so we could maximize our potential to get top dollar. I wish we hired her when we lived there because it was beautiful and a showcase home after Pamela worked her magic.

Pamela and her team will go the extra mile to make it just right at any stage of the process.

> Pamela was absolutely wonderful to work with. We did a major remodel of our entire living space and Pamela brought many brilliant and unexpected ideas to the project. We took her advice with each and we couldn't be happier that we did. We are thrilled with how our home looks! Pamela was a delight to work with and we look forward to working with her again on any future projects we have.

**★★★★★ — Karen Daks, Nov. 2020**

> Pam was a pleasure to work with. She is a very knowledgeable professional, full of ideas and unlimited patience. (I was not a very decisive client.) She worked with me to decide on type of living room window treatment and fabric, as well as style and fabric for the dining room chairs. She rearranged the art work in my home and selected the most complimentary for my living room and dining room. She also helped me to decide on wall paper for my powder room as well as paint color for the cabinetry and finish for the faucet and large mirror.
> I love how it all turned out, and have Pam to thank.

**Comment from Pamela Sandall Design:**

> Glad you love your space! Loved working with you as well :).

**★★★★★ — Thomas Parker, June 2020**

> I hired Pamela to stage my home for sale. The kitchen and bathrooms needed updating but I had a limited budget. Frankly, Pam and her team worked miracles by making every dollar count and in the end creating a look and sophisticated ambiance that really popped. It was such a joy to work with Pam and her team because I felt they really cared about me and my home. They took charge of finding and scheduling the best crafts-people to do the painting, electrical, plumbing and landscaping — and, because I lived out of state when all the work was being done — I was kept apprised of progress every step of the way. The result? My house quickly sold for thousands over asking price. Without the work of Pam and her team I doubt this could have happened.

**Comment from Pamela Sandall Design:**

> Hi Tom! Thanks for the nice follow up to our project. I'm glad to hear we made this transition easier for you! Best regards, Pamela

**★★★★★ — Nina Mercer, June 2020**

> We worked with Pamela to update a bathroom, as well as to redecorate our living room and dining room. The bathroom project was our first experience with doing any kind of construction in our home, and we were really nervous! Pamela connected us with an excellent, reliable and competent contractor who made the experience go smoothly. We love our new bathroom and are so happy with Pamela's design. It's just what we wanted!
>
> We also love how our living room and dining room turned out. Both rooms look amazing, are so comfortable to spend time in, and we get tons of compliments from our family and friends. We couldn't be more pleased.
>
> Pamela was incredible to work with. She is easy to talk to and really listens when it comes to preferences and budget. She introduced us to wonderful ideas and solutions that we just would not have considered if we were trying to figure things out on our own. There is no way we could have found our beautiful furnishings and vendors without Pamela's guidance. We are so happy to have worked with Pamela and highly, highly recommend her!

**★★★★★ — Olivieri Painting, Sept. 2016**

> I have been a residential home painter for 34 years, with my own company, Olivieri Painting, Inc. Pamela Sandall is one of the best, if not the best Interior Designer that I have ever worked with, in terms of collaboration, alone. Every job that Pamela has brought to my attention, has been a high quality job. Pamela calls me, she informs me of the project properly and lays out the total strategy and idea of how she wants to complete the project. She is so easy going with me, that it's truly enjoyable to work with her, under any time frame or circumstance and I look forward to her calls. She is just an absolute pro and I highly recommend her.

**★★★★★ — Debora Musikar, April 2016**

> We met Pamela through our realtor and are so happy we were able to work with her during the sale of our home. She is creative AND organized; an invaluable combination! After living in our home for 16 years, taking on the task of preparing it for sale was daunting. We were going to be long distance clients. After after meeting with Pamela, we felt completely at ease least putting ourselves in her hands. On top of all her skills, Pamela is easy going and responsible. With her great eye, the marketing photos looked fantastic and the house showed very well. It sold in the first week it was on the market! We can't recommend Pamela highly enough.

**★★★★★ — Tom Clary, April 2016**

> I have had the pleasure of working with Pamela several times and she is a consummate professional with an incredible eye for detail. Her creativity and resourcefulness is remarkable and she makes every space she works on a singular expression of warmth and beauty. Every time I've seen her work, I'm impressed by how she makes every room special and marries her aesthetic together with the vision and personality of her clients. I would not hesitate in recommending her to anyone.

**★★★★★ — mereodonnell, April 2016**

> It was a great pleasure working with Pam on redecorating our living and dining rooms. She spent a lot of time getting to know us, our style, and lifestyle. She incorporated some of our existing pieces and the end product is totally us. Pam has such a great eye for design. She put together fabrics, colors, and pieces that make our room comfortable, fun and gorgeous, exactly what we wanted and better than we anticipated. We love the space she created and highly recommend her!

**Comment from Pamela Sandall Design:**

> My condo needed a complete makeover and Pam came to my rescue. She and her contractor Ted gave me a home I am very proud of. Her suggestions were spot on and within my budget. She even worked in a few surprises that ended up being nothing short of remarkable. From the counter tops to the hardwood flooring, hardware and paint, Pam and her team worked magic. I highly recommend Pam for all your decorating needs.

**★★★★★ — jmb6060, Sept. 2015**

> Pam is the greatest person to work with in the remodel design of your home. I was on the East Coast moving to the West Coast and downsizing. She knew exactly how to guide me through and coordinate with everyone on the job site.
>
> She takes the time to meet with you and learn your taste in furnishing and your family. When it was time to set up our home with all the selections my husband and I were on vacation and she came in and completed the project.
>
> It was wonderful to return home and have your home look so warm and beautiful. She takes care of every detail.

**Comment from Pamela Sandall Design:**

> Awwwww, thanks Jane. You were absolutely the greatest people to work with. And I loved making your new home ready for you!

**★★★★★ — User, June 2015**

> My condo was rented out for the past 21 years. Unfortunately, the last tenant left it a disaster. Pam designed and helped project manage an entire rehab of the whole unit top to bottom, wall to wall. It was a smooth and pleasant process, took less than a month and it now looks brand new and beautiful.

**Comment from Pamela Sandall Design:**

> It was a fun little project, D! Happy you're pleased with the results.

**★★★★★ — bettyhartman, Nov. 2014**

> My recent experience with Pamela was wonderful! She staged our house to put on the market for sale.
> Her work was absolutely beautiful, and we received multiple offers the first week we were listed. She has a kind and cheerful personality and was very pleasant to work with. She is a true professional with a keen eye for design. She met our deadline for real estate photos and worked within our budget! I give Pamela the highest recommendation with great confidence!

**★★★★★ — User, July 2014**

> I took a class from Pam just after moving to Oregon. My husband and I had retired and relocated to be near our adult children and their families. Pam’s class was helpful, but I realized that the challenges of our new home were more than I wanted to tackle on my own. With Pam’s eye for color and her ability to visualize how the rooms could look, we were able to find a color scheme that we liked and furniture that fit. One of the best things about the process was Pam’s willingness to listen and work with our needs and lifestyle. Having a train table as part of the living room design was probably not part of her usual design challenges. But grandchildren are an important part of our life and we wanted our house to have a place for them.
>
> A few years later we were ready to remodel a kitchen that needed a better design. Pam worked with us and the contractor. With her help we found the right colors and materials that are both practical and beautiful. Five years later we are still enjoying the results and getting compliments from visitors.

## Community Q&A

**Q: replacing interior doors-wood or painted?** *(in Polls)*

Our 1980 home needs new interior doors but I don’t know what to replace them with. The trim will be painted white. The second floor interior doors a oak veneer. So your thoughts on painted white or oak veneer?

A: My general rule of thumb on "through" items like doors is consistency. The exception might be an entry door. So I would typically advise a client to either paint all the doors the same color OR go natural wood in a matching tone.
The color depends on the end result you're going for. With your warm neutral on the walls in the lower hallway white is a safe option of course but you could even do a stronger color.
When you're considering painting a single element, start by creating a paint palette for you entire home that consists of a "through" neutral color - like this hall wall color. Add in your trim color. The select an accent color the works well with your flooring and adds a little flair. You can even incorporate a wood tone you love (like the wood tone in your beams, for example!). That way if you opt for wood doors downstairs, you know the whole thing will blend.
There's been a trend to go with strong colors - black doors are popular! - but you could even do a deep neutral to keep that hallway from feeling too closed in.
Used this pre-set color palette as the cohesive factor throughout the public areas and in those through spaces and your whole design will come together more easily.
Pamela.

**Q: For the bedroom where is the bedding from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

The pink bedroom with the palm tree bedding.

A: Thanks for reaching out...this is something my clients brought to me as the insporation for their new retirement home - all thing Tommy Bahama. It's been a few years and not sure this one is around but here's a link withh a similar one! https://www.tommybahama.com/en/Palmiers-King-Comforter-Set/p/SHSA31034257-270

**Q: I have a question** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color are the walls...they are beautiful!!!

A: Hi there and thanks for asking. This was honestly several years ago and I cannot remember! This one photographs like "buttah" but it was actually just a creamy white with beautiful sunlight streaming in.

If you're wanting this lovely tone for your space, I would encourage you too look for warm-toned creamy white - typically about three different shades - then purchase testers or quart size of each color. Paint them (two coats!) on the walls in varying places around the room and live with them through several days. Pay attention to the way the light affects the color.

Here's an(old!) article I wrote on this if it's helpful.

**Q: Love the floor, countertop tile and backsplash!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Are you willing to share names and sources of the floor, counterop and backsplash tile? Thanks for posting!

A: Thanks for reaching out, Gary! This is actually a legit vintage kitchen. I actually posted this here ages ago as I loved the vintage charm and wanted to share :). I wish I could tell you where to find but it's a pretty standard tile countertop. and vintage brick floor. Pretty easy to duplicate. Good luck!

**Q: hi, wondering about the wall treatment** *(in Photo Questions)*

if it is wallpaper, could you please tell me the pattern name?

A: We actually had a remarkable faux painter do this. This is all a painted finish: paint and a texture medium.

**Q: could you tell me where you got the lovely agate wall art?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Ahhh...glad you like and I wish I had a great resource to share with you but we scored these at HomeGoods! Typically that means they are discontinued :(.
