**Q: Is paint color too light for Mansard Roof house in Maine--near water.** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am having my house painted.  The Mansard Roof is currently a cranberry red (cedar shakes) and the body of the house is white.  One thought was to paint both the same color or to have the roof just a bit darker than the body--thinking mainly in the grey or green family and then I saw this and love it, but will it work in Maine?  One person said  the color is not dense enough for Maine, but house on right is white and house on left is golden yellow.  Any thoughts, ideas much appreciated.
