> We did a massive remodel with YA Studio on a San Francisco house originally built in 1914; the mandate was to totally modernize the house while living within the city guidelines for facade integrity within a historic district. YA Studio was an excellent architectural firm for this work, as they really know the historic district, planning, zoning and permitting issues, and they have a great eye. Further, they got their work done in a very timely fashion and their fees were more than reasonable (very good value for the money). YA Studio also worked well with the structural engineer and our general contractor. I have done a lot of work as a developer, and I have had my share of headaches with architects. On this project, our family home, we really enjoyed working with YA Studio, we admire their talents, and consider them friends.

**Q: Love the stairs, but how are they holding??** *(in Photo Questions)*

I was taking a look at this particular project, and I love the stairs, the marble floor, the bight colors, and the organic form of the stairs. But I was wondering if they are supported by an metallic structure hidden under the drywall?

A: Completely self supported and held off the walls. Built-up laminated plywood sheets.
