Our kitchen was relocated, walls were taken down between the living room, kitchen, and dining room, new flooring was laid throughout. I was a bit trepidatious about the remodel as I'd always heard how traumatic they can be. We had nothing to worry about with Remodeling Designs. From the first day I walked into their showroom to the day they were done with the remodel, they treated us like family and with the utmost respect. We started with big ideas, and Beth, Erich, and Christine let us know what was feasible and what wasn't, making suggestions as to materials, colors, etc. We went through several designs on paper, and they were so very patient with us each time we made changes. They really want to make sure their clients are happy and get what they want and are realistic. I appreciated this tremendously as they made the whole process easy. > On to the work itself--Randy, our project manager, is an incredible craftsman. There is an artistry to his work, and he wants to make sure everything is perfect. Each night before leaving, whomever had worked that day (Randy, subcontractors) would make sure they had cleaned up everything, which I appreciated. All of the people connected to the remodel (Randy, other Remodeling Designs employees, subcontractors) were friendly, and they had a lot of patience with my endless questions! Also, I had no qualms about giving Randy a key to the house so he could be there if we weren't. I trusted him and the subcontractors to be in the house without us. > The end of the project--finished about a week ahead of schedule and only about $4,000 over budget, but that's because we added a couple of things. I'd only ever heard about remodels running over schedule and over budget. Not this one! > I really cannot recommend Remodeling Designs enough. The kitchen layout was completely changed to improve traffic flow and allow island seating which we didn't have before. From the very beginning we were impressed with their attention to detail. The pre-constuction meetings were so thorough that we had no budget changes during the course of the project and the timeline for completion was followed to the letter. They provided excellent guidance and knowledge to us, but yet were patient as we sorted through all of the options that we had. The end result is that we have an entire first floor that far exceeds our original expectations. Their workmanship is absolutely top notch. Can't say enough about the great job our carpenter did. After the job was done, all of their team (the President, interior designer, and sales consultant) came back for a final walk through to make sure that everything was done to their standards. The President even spotted a few minor things which we had not noticed and those things were fixed immediately.
