> Dana has a great eye, and helped me decorate some tricky spaces in my very old Baltimore row home. She gave me lots of choices, and narrowed in on my style quickly. I enjoyed working with her!

> Working with Dana and Purple Bike Design was effortless! Her collaborative approach to design, and her ability to define and envision her clients wishes and needs, sets her apart. She is a top designer, but has the uncanny ability to make each client feel most important. Highly recommended!

**★★★★★ — s.c.lord~ an archival framing studio, Dec. 2016**

> Dana from Purple Bike is an absolute pleasure to work with. I've greatly enjoyed working together on several of her projects. She brings a creative and thoughtful approach to each environment making it unique to each client . She finds the balance between beauty & function, current without being kitschy, always timeless with just the right amount of fun/unexpected with each interior she touches. A master of colour & finding the right pattern that fits a clients personality, her art background always utilized for flow, form & design. Highly, highly recommend Purple Bike!

**★★★★★ — breehendrick, Dec. 2016**

> I'm not sure exactly where to begin, as Dana and Purple Bike have revamped and renovated my new home almost from scratch. I thought I knew what I liked, and I had an overall vision but absolutely no idea how to accomplish that vision for my "new" 1950s ranch home. The house needed an overhaul from renovating bathrooms, new floors, paint, and structural changes (not to mention I sold my old furniture to essentially start fresh). Dana has managed the project with my contractor from start to finish and everything in between. She has seamlessly incorporated my existing furniture, finishes, pictures and accessories into the new home. She selected furniture and finishes for my main living spaces that have far surpassed my expectations all while being conscious of my budget and time constraints. Her sense of humor and ease are incredibly reassuring to a design novice like myself! I believe I told her that I like farmhouse yet contemporary; rustic yet clean and simple; big and cozy but not overwhelming and all in a budget! Whatever that actually means, Dana has pulled it off with much success.
>
> Perhaps the greatest compliment is Dana takes the time to get to know YOU. Her selections are such a thoughtful reflection of my family and me. My happiness and comfort are her priorities, yet she knows just when to stand firm and encourage me to see the entire picture (she's always right). This is the fourth house I've owned in my life, and Dana has made this my first true home. I look forward to more projects with her, and I have recommended her to everyone I know...especially my friends who have delivered many high compliments on my new home!

**★★★★★ — Rob Maltzahn, Dec. 2016**

> Dana is super talented, creative, fun and easy to work with. I have not worked with a decorator before and she has helped give my house a much needed refresh. The contractors she has worked with have been reliable and considerate. Have been a great experience.

**★★★★★ — tracyvdot, Jan. 2016**

> Hi hired Dana from Purple Bike after a long search for designers when my family and I moved from Atlanta to Greensboro. I had worked with a designer before, so I knew what I was looking for. We were essentially starting from scratch having sold most of our big furniture prior to the move, so it was a large project (nearly the whole house).
>
> Dana went beyond my expectations. She was open, creative, smart and we meshed easily. She took my input, our conversations and all the questions from her questionnaire new clients have to fill out and gave us exactly what we were looking for, in initial design concepts and our end result. My style is a blend of several and Dana helped us pick the perfect pieces within our budget. She never pushed for more expensive or for a certain vendor or store. She never overruled if I had my heart set on something, but she always told me what she thought (and she was right pretty much all the time anyway). She turned me on to stores I never knew existed and sourced things for us from all over. Her fees were reasonable, well worth it.
>
> I know I drove her nuts, but she was always responsive, sweet and helpful. She pushed me to consider unique parings of things, paint colors, etc. I wouldn't have thought about and the result is a home that is "us." I love my new home, my boys love their new rooms and we get soo many comments from people who visit about how warm and cozy the house is. And the best part is, everything is comfortable, not just pretty. I will be sad when we're all done. I consider her a friend now. Thanks so much, Dana! :)

**Comment from Purple Bike Design:**

> Ditto that, Tracy! What a wonderful review. Thank you so much! I am thrilled that you are as happy with your home as I am. You have made the process so enjoyable. I have loved working on your home with you, and making a new friend in the process. Maybe we can hang out in your new living room together? : )

> Dana designed both my dining room and basement space. Both projects, I was at a complete loss on how to design the spaces. Dana knew immediately what to do. She understood what I liked and quickly came up with ideas to fill the spaces. She is a true professional and wonderful to work with! I look forward to my next project with her.

**★★★★★ — Desireé Partin, Nov. 2015**

> Dana is phenomenal! She just gets our style!! I can't wait to see the finished projects-but so far, I'm in love with her selections!! Our paint colors are just what I envisioned, our bedding is so inviting and cozy, and our bathroom design boards are out of this world beautiful!

**Comment from Purple Bike Design:**

> Thank you, Desiree! I absolutely love working with you and am so excited to see your home come together. Client's like you are why I love my job!

**★★★★★ — Sadie and Grace Design Inc., Aug. 2015**

> Purple bike design speaks to the specifications of the clients needs down to the most minute details. They clearly care about each client and are wonderful to work with. I recommend them in the highest possible fashion as they are like working with a best friend who sees and gets your personal vision!

> Dana was awesome to work with. Wonderful eye for detail. She staged our house for selling and we sold the house over listing price after 2 days on the market! Couldn't have asked for more. We highly recommend Purple Bike Design.

**★★★★★ — shannonbenglish, April 2015**

> Dana helped us stage our home for selling. She really took the time to get to know our house and furnishings, and was able to make several on-the-spot recommendations that really improved the flow of the home. In addition, her specific style ideas and Pinterest board were a huge help in perfecting the details. From furniture placement to colors and accents, she provided a comprehensive plan that helped us sell our house in no time!

> It is a joy and pleasure working with Purple Bike Design! I have been working with Dana at Purple Bike Design on a redesign of the living area in my home. Dana is amazing to work with! She has listened to all of my likes and dislikes and my budget concerns. She is extremely open to feedback of her ideas and designs, which is not always the case with designers! She wants my living space to be beautiful and wonderful for me and my family! She has offered a variety of options for my budget, of which she is very aware of, again not always the case with designers! Mainly, Dana is just a wonderful person to work with and she is incredibly talented! Her design and art background are fantastic and she has a natural instinct for design and working with people. This has been a really lovely experience working with Purple Bike Design, which I highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — mrsmomesq, Jan. 2015**

> Dana of Purple Bike Design is a DREAM to work with. She nailed my aesthetic immediately, was super responsive and made sure to offer a variety of price points for my renovation. She gave me the bedroom and bathroom of my dreams! Dana worked with me remotely which worked out even better than I imagined. I highly recommend Purple Bike Design and would use Dana again in a heartbeat!

**Comment from Purple Bike Design:**

> Thank you!! I would work with you again in a heartbeat too. : ) xoxo

**★★★★★ — Angela Vavasori, Dec. 2014**

> Dana at Purple Bike Design is incredible at design. Dana has designed the entire first floor of my home and my work office. I can't even buy sheets without asking what she thinks! When I say "designed my first floor", I mean she did everything! We redid the entire kitchen (counters, lighting, backsplash, painted cabinetry), built a mantel for the fireplace, added wallpaper (that's amazing), refinished all the floors (with a custom color we designed ourselves), custom roman shade window treatments & curtains, painted every wall and door and completely furnished the whole thing. She puts patterns, colors and textures together that I couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams and they all seem like they were made for one another and the space. Every thing in my home is so beautiful and original - I can't imagine it any other way nor could I imagine having done any of it on my own.
>
> Dana knew my style better than I did! She had the patience to work with me in my moments of indecisiveness and listened thoughtfully to everything. All modesty aside, my home looks gorgeous and everyone compliments Dana's work when they come over. I could go on and on and on.... I would be happy to recommend Dana to anyone needing a simple design to a complex redo!

**★★★★★ — stephsafran, Nov. 2014**

> I hired Purple Bike for a hybrid snap design/custom design job. It was my first experience with a designer and it was an extremely positive one. We got design plans for two rooms and advice on items for several other rooms. The design plans included mood boards, links to specific items, advice on details like sizing for art and window treatments, and all other kinds of helpful hints. Working with the owner, Dana, was really wonderful. She was warm and friendly, great at sharing ideas and also at listening to my gut reactions and preferences. She was quick, clear and thorough in all of our communication. And, she has tremendous resources at her disposal (contacts and discounts at numerous online and brick-and-mortar retailers). I can't say enough good things about Dana and Purple Bike. If and when I can afford to redecorate another part of the house, I will definitely hire them again.

**★★★★★ — karynott, Nov. 2014**

> Dana took a huge mess and turned our living room into a magazine ready, homey design. We had some great pieces, a difficult wall color and a large open space. Dana used our photos and measurements and produced a design that incorporated our entire wish list. Dana selected various pieces and offered us numerous options to complete our look. I would highly recommend using Purple Bike Design and I plan to use their services again in the future.

**★★★★★ — User, Oct. 2014**

> Purple Bike Design is the real deal. Dana has always been so easy to work with and goes way beyond the norm to help, offer advice and be one of the best at what she does. I love collaborating with Dana...she can take the ideas you already have and make them so much better!

**★★★★★ — Elizabeth Lawson Design, Sept. 2014**

> Dana's design style is fresh, comfortable and extremely livable. Dana and I have collaborated a number of times and it has always been a great experience. She is easy-going, extremely helpful and insightful with regards to design. Her keen eye for unexpected pieces and color translates beautifully to her spaces.

**★★★★★ — dinawolf, Sept. 2013**

> My husband and I purchased a new home and needed to furnish the entire first floor. It was overwhelming for us so we decided to get some help from Purple Bike. I was the point of contact and worked directly with Dana the entire time.
>
> Dana is very professional and talented in interior design. She came over to our house for meetings which was great because we were in the space we were working on. She was always focused on us. Dana listened closely and really paid attention to our needs and wishes.
>
> Purple Bike presented a plan to us and we gave direct feedback. We were very honest and we exchanged ideas and comments until my husband and I were happy with the final plan. Purple Bike ordered everything, managed the budget, and installed our new beautiful living space! We highly recommend Purple Bike and would hire them again in a heartbeat. Our home is gorgeous and we love it!

**★★★★★ — dawnhcs, Sept. 2013**

> I have been working with Purple Bike Design for approximately four years and have found them to be completely professional in every aspect. Dana and Clayton are highly knowledgeable, friendly, and capable of working within a variety of budgets. I trust their judgement in every aspect of the design process. My husband and I are so happy with our home, which is a product of our collaboration with Dana and Clayton on every level. Moreover, on the rare occasions when I was not comfortable with a Purple Bike suggestion, I felt completely at ease voicing my concern which, in turn, was taken seriously before other options were put forth. I give them my highest recommendation without reservation.

**★★★★★ — rmhutch, Sept. 2013**

> We have used Purple Bike for several design projects in our home and have loved the results. Though our budget for each has been relatively small, the design team delivered spaces that incorporated our personal style, introduced design elements we would not have thought of, and captured the overall feel we were hoping for. Dana and Clayton are a pleasure to work with and have made furnishing and designing our first home so much fun!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Carpet** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you please share the manufacturer of the carpet?

A: Hi! This carpet is Ember Ring from Patterson, Flynn and Martin. Happy Designing! http://www.pattersonflynnmartin.com/collection\_image/ember-ring/

**Q: Bright Ideas Interiors** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you tell me who makes the cocktail table please?

A: Sure thing! This is the Alexa Hampton Kate Cocktail Table by Hickory Chair.

**Q: I noticed a reference to farrow and ball james white on this page.** *(in Photo Questions)*

could you please tell me the color you used on the wall, and the dresser?
thanks.

A: Hi! The wall color is Farrow and Ball James White. The dresser is Farrow and Ball Wimborne White. I don't recall what color red we used for the knobs. Happy decorating! : )

**Q: Cheap facelift?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I will eventually get around to fully remodeling this powder room, but assuming I don't replace the hideous pink sink and toilet in the near term, can you think of anything I could do to this room to make it look like I don't actually hate the sink and toilet?

A: Hi! I kind of like the wallpaper and pink plumbing. Here is what I would do. This will last you a long time. And just when brass is going back out of style, you'll be ready for the reno. Have fun!

**Q: Need help with my shutters and home exterior** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I recently changed my exterior paint colors from black & white to more natural tones to bring out the stone on my home. I picked the roof color to highlight the stone (probably wish I had picked a darker tone). I love the paint color and the change overall, but the shutters and door don't look right to me. Also the house seems a little heavy on the left due to the lack of shutter space on the right. Updated landscaping is coming in spring, but I would love any suggestions you may have regarding shutter/front door colors, gutter color (should I go dark brown?) and ideas to balance my home. A roof color change or overall home re-paint is not an option. Thanks in advance!

A: If this were my home, I would make the front of the house all about the gorgeous windows and the lovely light that it gets during the time of day this photo was taken. It's something out of a storybook. So beautiful. Therefore, I would remove the shutters (as sweet as they are) and replace the front door with a glass one. I do love your front door, so perhaps there is another place in the house that it could be used. Here are some examples. Although not the ideal inspiration photos I was looking for, I think they get the point across. Your home is beautiful. Enjoy!

**Q: Layout change for my open floor plan? Please help.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi I have been having second thoughts about the overall feel and look of the layout and I cannot come up with any solutions.Would you place the dining room table where into the "living room" area? Also if you have any other ideas I will more than appreciate any input.Thank you!!!

A: My Pleasure! Take Care!
