**★★★★★ — Studio Zerbey Architecture + Interiors, March 2017**

> As architects and the owners of Studio Zerbey, we've worked with MU-2 on 4 projects now and all have been positive experiences. Ted is easy to work with, transparent in his approach and prompt to address questions or concerns. We recognize and appreciate that MU-2 is well-equipped to understand what the design goals/challenges are and pro-actively works in a collaborative way with both the architect and homeowner to achieve the desired result.

> This project went very well for the first 95%, but over a year later, we are still struggling to close permits and the company is not responsive. I gave MU2 a 5 star review after our project was mostly complete because of the quality of the work and experience during construction. However, due to the experience over the past year trying to finalize permits, I would no longer recommend this company.

> I worked with these guys on two projects. 100% honest, straightforward, good guys and crew, doing their best to build something they can be proud of and stand behind, that will exceed your expectations. Old Seattle - honest, hardworking craftsmen, like Ballard used to be full of. 2 good guys doing great work!
> You Betcha!

> My project (installation of a kitchen in my mother-in-law apartment) was bid and completed by Ted of Mu-2. Work included installation of cabinets, under cabinet lighting, exhaust fan, tile backsplash, custom mirror to replicate existing window, and trim out of the plumbing. He did everything in a timely manner, stuck to the bid with a few changes approved during the process, and did an excellent job. The highest praise given because he "thinks"! He offered some suggestions and options that neither I nor the designer had considered, and he was easy to work with.

> We hired Mu-2 after talking with several local contractors when we did a major bathroom remodel in our seattle home. They turned one oversized bathroom into two beautiful smaller bathrooms. Out of all the potential contractors, Mu-2 took the most time to understand what we wanted and the resource constraints we faced. They also provided the most comprehensive estimate which helped us feel comfortable moving forward with the project. The crew was always on-time, pleasant, and very respectable of the rest of our space. I would highly recommend talking to Mu-2 for any home addition/remodel projects you are considering.

> We contracted with MU2 to renovate the kitchen of a house we recently bought in Seattle. Without question we’ve been thoroughly pleased with both the process and the final product. They are honest, talented, forthright, dependable, trustworthy and, of equal importance, good communicators. From the preliminary walkthrough (with a number of contractors), during the bidding process, through demolition and construction, up to and including project completion, they demonstrated their ability to understand what we wanted, work within our budget, explain appropriate options and meet the agreed upon timeline. They are well informed about both available products and vendors. Essentially they managed the project and managed it well. We had pre-selected a firm to provide cabinetry for this renovation and MU2 took the lead as liaison with this firm, ensuring our satisfaction. Mu2 is worthy of our highest recommendation.

> We hired Mu-2 Inc in the fall of 2011 to gut a house we purchased in Georgetown, move all of the rooms in the house around, and then put it back together again. The project started in September and we moved in just prior to Christmas that year (it's a small house, it only took 3 months). Ted and Geoff were amazing to work with. Their work ethic was high - each day they showed up at the same time (early) and they worked a full day each day until the job was complete. We obviously weren't living here at the time but all of our new neighbors were impressed with the regularity of their schedule and told us so. There was great value. Geoff and Ted handled everything from plumbing to wiring - in our house both were completely replaced - to hooking up our new washer and dryer when they arrived. And everything in between. We continue to use them on new projects here long after we moved in. This year they built us a beautiful fence - and it's an 8,000 sq foot lot - that has an awe inspiring rolling gate. I bought overly complicated gate locks on the internet and Ted and Geoff figured them out and made them work. They basically built gates to work with my locks! Currently they are building a deck off our kitchen and two sets of stairs leading down to our patio. We can't recommend them highly enough. You could call us for more details if you like. 206-328-2145

## Community Q&A

**Q: Siding?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What product is it?

A: Hi...its wester red cedar shingles with Olympic stain.

**Q: What is the name of the granite used on the island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love that and it is something that I have never seen…

A: Hi, Late on the reply, However the material is a petrified river bed. When cutting the material what you see is the cross section of river rocks encased in the petrified river bed. Very dramatic... :-)

**Q: what size grout joint also what color grout? Looks great!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We set those with a 3/16" grout line using Custom brand Delorean Grey. I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the inquiry. :)

**Q: This is a cool backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

What kind/size of tile did you use, and what color grout? I love the contrast.

A: Hi Cecile, the tile is "Daltile \#0100 3x6" with a non-sanded grout in Delorean Grey by custom colors. We went with this choice given the classic look and the relatively low cost of materials; we also used Miraseal 511 impregnator (matte) as our choice of sealer.

Thanks for the compliment, and have fun with your projects.

Ted

**Q: Who makes the above range shelf?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for the inquiry. In this case its a Thermador, most vent hoods have a warming shelf available as an accessory.

**Q: Did you tile behind the hood?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd like to hear what is recommended or typical ... thanks!

A: No apologies needed. The grout is CUSTOM brand DELOREAN GREY. We used a non-sanded grout for gaps of 1/8" or less, then used penetrating sealer, (miraseal 511). Hope this helps.
