> Hart STUDIO worked with Julie Pero of Sander and Sons, Inc. on the remodeling of a client's kitchen in Denver, CO. Julie was able to translate our drawings into reality, working closely with us and the clients to deliver a kitchen that the clients love. It was a pleasure collaborating with her and look forward to doing so again in the future.

> We hired Julie to design the cabinets and cabinets for our kitchen remodel and couldn't be more pleased. We now have our dream kitchen, thanks to her. Her design sense, knowledge of cabinets, countertops, sinks and faucets is truly amazing. She listened to us, shared her ideas, and made sure every single detail was taken into account. If you are looking for a true kitchen designer she is the one!

> We renovated nearly our entire house, including building on an addition. This meant we were creating a brand new kitchen. Julie carefully looked at the architectural drawings that we brought with us to our consultation, and listened closely to our thoughts and needs. Julie stood out because she made suggestions that were helpful, but always took into consideration our ideas as well. Julie was genuinely supportive, and was sincerely excited as the project was finalized and then executed. She was always patient, calm, detail-oriented, and efficient. We would highly recommend Julie, and if the need arises for us, we would gladly work with her in the future.

> My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Julie Pero during the planning and remodeling of our kitchen. We had a preliminary meeting with Julie to discuss a general overview of the project and then she visited our home to see our current design and discuss in detail how we could accomplishment our objectives. Julie met with us numerous times and provided expert advice on how best to utilize our space, what types of products were best for our plans, how long we could expect the project to take, and she answered all of our questions directly. We felt very comfortable with Julie and quickly grew to respect her advice and expertise.
>
> In all of our meetings with Julie she was more than generous with her time and was genuinely interested in incorporating our ideas, plans and wishes into the final design. This was critically important to us because other designers we have met in the past tried to steer us away from what we wanted and instead convince us that we should follow their designs which did not match what we wanted.
>
> Once we agreed on the design and materials to be used, Julie coordinated the ordering of cabinets and the counter top. Since we decided to do the general contracting ourselves, she provided us with the time frame we needed to follow to assure that the project would be completed on schedule.
>
> The entire kitchen remodel was completed on schedule just as Julie had projected. The cabinets and the counter top she ordered for us are not just beautiful, but are exceptionally well-built and very high quality.
>
> We could not be more pleased with the entire process and we know that Julie is primarily responsibility for making sure that we now have the kitchen we always wanted. We could not have asked for a better designer and we give her our highest recommendation to anyone looking to embark on any home remodeling project.

> Julie was absolutely awesome! I had interviewed six other kitchen professionals and actually started working with three of them designing my kitchen. The first overlooked a beam we couldn't take out and made one of the blind cabinets smaller without telling me, the second just slapped the sketch on the computer and spit it out and the third spent a lot on the details but didn't listen to what I wanted and blew off my concerns. We have an extremely small kitchen and every detail is critical. I had ideas but Julie helped to create them and even a simple suggestion that she made, made huge difference. She was patient with me, we worked together to get the details worked out and I truly enjoyed working with her. We are done with our kitchen but will be working with her again this fall for two bathroom vanity's that we need.
>
> Another note - the installer of the kitchen we used was also great to work with. During his installation, he asked what brand of cabinets because he thought the quality was pretty good!

> Your Perfect Kitchen did a superb job in every aspect of our kitchen remodel. They listened closely to our needs, asked all the right questions, and provided a very complete and well thought out plan in the final design. The custom cabinets they recommended (Wood Harbor) were beautifully built and look fantastic. The entire project was completed on time and on budget. The thing that impressed me most with Julie was she kept thinking of things that we hadn't considered in the design, which ultimately led to a better looking and more functional kitchen. Kudos to Julie and Your Perfect Kitchen. Also, I highly recommend Wood Harbor cabinets - super high quality, built in America.

> Would recommend this individual for your kitchen and bath needs! Beautiful work. Has additional expertise in Aging in Place for those needs.

 - Description: Achieving this amazing open kitchen required putting an addition on the back corner of the home, but the results were everything the homeowners had dreamed. The lower level prep sink and microwave are perfect for eager grand kids wanting to help. The bar stools on the peninsula, table end on the island and bistro table in the nook, offer plenty of seating options in addition to the formal dining room. Little touches like the up-lit light box with pendant lights, open shelving for collectibles, r…

 - Location: Not specified
 - Photos: 7
 - Description: The original kitchen felt closed in by the cabinets hanging over the peninsula, which were eliminated along with the box soffit above and the blond cabinets that did not go with the home owners decor. This kitchen begged for a richer color and a focal point worthy of this home, which sits in the middle of one of Colorado's beautiful "red rock" areas.
- [White Kitchen with Splash of Teal](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/white-kitchen-with-splash-of-teal-pj-vj~698032)
 - Location: Not specified

 - Description: White and bright with lots of light...that is what these homeowners were seeking...the results are simply magical. Moving the roof line out and up, opened up this space giving them the "dream home" they always wanted.
- [Natural Hickory Small Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/natural-hickory-small-kitchen-pj-vj~697949)
 - Location: Not specified

 - Description: High on the wish list for their new kitchen, was opening up the small space to the other rooms in the house. Pushing the peninsula back a few inches and removing the cabinets above aided the transformation. Natural hickory gave the space genuine warmth and personality. The results created a great place for family interaction and to share the gorgeous view of their organic garden.

 - Description: - Increased functionality and storage were created by simply moving the dining room doorway over in this kitchen. - Giving the cook much needed work space, and a lazy-susan in the corner for better base storage access . - Removing the soffits and the cabinets over the peninsula was an obvious design choice. - As was extending the peninsulas length and width for a bigger work area. - The refrigerator wall area just needed some re-framing to open up the recessed niche and tuck the cabinetry back o…
- [Small Modern Espresso Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/small-modern-espresso-kitchen-pj-vj~704819)
 - Location: Not specified

 - Description: Transforming this dark, dated kitchen into a fresh, modern space, a place to enjoy cooking and entertaining--was this homeowners desire. - The drop ceiling needed to stay, but we were able to easily open up the walls separating the kitchen and dining nook from the family room. - Two tiered seating on the peninsula, hid the induction range from view, and created a multi-functional "buffet end". - Additional recessed lights were installed to reflect off the white surfaces, making the rich, dark ca…
- [Cherry Kitchen with Pizzazz](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cherry-kitchen-with-pizzazz-pj-vj~673242)
 - Location: Not specified
 - Photos: 6
 - Description: This kitchen had an okay layout, but the refrigerator made the corner cramped and the range was in the main traffic aisle. The homeowners biggest complaint was it did not have any personality or pizzazz! - New flooring and richer cabinetry, were high on this homeowners list. - Creating an interesting focal point with a new cooktop, chimney hood and fun mosaic tiles, was next. - Next it was the exposed back of the peninsula's turn to get some personality, so we changed it's design to add a curved…
- [Warm and Welcoming Alder Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/warm-and-welcoming-alder-kitchen-pj-vj~698070)
 - Location: Not specified
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: Even though they were downsizing, these homeowners still enjoyed cooking and entertaining their extended family. What this remodeled kitchen needed, was more spaces for informal seating and bigger food preparation and serving areas. To accomplish this, the walls between the breakfast nook and dining room were removed to create a "great room", for this lovely patio home. Peninsulas at each end of the long kitchen, were added to offer plenty of options for guests to visit with the cooks. Warm Alde…

## Community Q&A

**Q: vent** *(in Photo Questions)*

how is the oven vented? is it a downdraft? If so, what brand is this? Thank you

A: Sorry about the delayed response. This is an Electrolux "induction" range. There is a small vent behind the cook-top, but that is for the oven only. If the area you live in requires ventilation for electric cook-tops then you would need to add some type of overhead unit. It's possible to put a pop-up downdraft behind the range, but ducting becomes trickier than if it was just a cook-top with no oven below. Hope this information is helpful to you!

**Q: What brand are these cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am building a very small lake house on a tight budget. I'm considering Denver Hickory stock cabinets from Lowe's. I also a, looking at solid surface "marble" look or laminate "marble" look countertops and large size white subway tile backsplash. I also want to use wood look tile for flooring. Can you provide more photos and written details of this remodel of this small kitchen?

A: Hi, thanks for the inquiry! The cabinets are from Bridgewood Advantage Cabinetry in Kansas, and are unstained, natural hickory.

**Q: Countertop** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the countertop material and color?

A: That is Cambria Quartz and the color is Windemere.

**Q: Backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the name of this backsplash?

A: It's from Bellavita Tile - Dolomite Series - Escarpment Light

**Q: Glass mosaic tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, what is the name/brand of the glass mosaic tile you used for the backsplash? Also is the countertop quartz? Thanks!

A: It's from Bellavita Tile - Dolomite Series - Escarpment Light. The countertop is Cambria Quartz - Torquay.

**Q: Source for this backsplash?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is there a source available for this backsplash? Or perhaps a more detailed look at the countertop?

A: My clients found the tile in-stock at Capco Tile and Stone, I do not remember the name.
To get a better look at the counter-top you can go to CambriaUSA.com and look at the "New Quay" Quartz.
