A: They all appear to be the same size. Unfortunately we did not provide the decorative hardware for this job, so we don't have record of the specific sizing. Sorry! **Q: Pantry color in two-tone kitchen** *(in Remodeling)* Hello! Working on finalizing our cabinet plan for our 1914 bungalow. We are doing a two-tone kitchen with shaker-style cabinets from Schrock. The lowers will be "Maritime" and the uppers will be "Dover" (pictured below, also with a schematic of the kitchen). The uppers on the side with the sink and dishwasher will have glass fronts of some sort. The floors are antique quartersawn heart pine (refinished from under a lot of tar) and the counters are tentatively going to be a honed black granite like Jet Mist. Oh, and we are eliminating the upper cabinets in between the two windows on the sink wall. Don't think we need them. My question is about what to do with the floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet we are putting by the back door; it's got the door on the left and on the right, a window and a dummy cabinet (hiding a piece of old-house weirdness) in Maritime. Our current plan is to do the pantry in the Maritime color, but now I am kind of wondering if we should do all the cabinets in that whole run (upper and lower, from the pantry to the fridge) in Dover, so the only Maritime cabinets would be the lowers in the main part of the kitchen. Do you like it or is it too big? Pics are a bonus! Thanks A: We've done many Kosher kitchens. What we find is that the homeowners either choose two seperate sinks completely (if their kitchen can accomodate it), or they'll get as large of a sink base as they can and get a double bowl. Standardly speaking though, you'll be getting a 39" sink for a 42" sink base. Does it feel too big or just enough? A: This is my personal kitchen (well originally speaking, I've since changed out doors and elements) but any way... it's a 9-9.5' size island. You can see we don't have the cook top in the island, but we do have our sink. We comfortable seat four across the back, but can add two others at the clipped corners on each side to fit 6 if we need to. It is a massive island, which was troubling trying to find granite that large so we didn't have a seam. Now, the trend is quartz, and at 10' you shouldn't have a problem. It doesn't FEEL massive. We use the island's counter top more than any other counter top in the island. It's also great if you host parties alot. You can set up a nice buffet around it, to keep the flow moving. I think you should do it. Go big or go home! :) **Q: Designer's Choice Cabinetry vs Tedd Wood** *(in Design Dilemma)* Does anyone have any recent experience with the Designer's Choice? From what I read online the reviews were less then desirable with this particular cabinet maker. However I saw that they were acquired in 2016 by the same firm that owns Tedd Wood. We were looking at the Tedd Wood line however our original quote came in much higher then we wanted to spend. They said a way to cut the costs could be to look at the Designer's Choice instead. Considering the amount of cabinets that we need I want to be sure we get a cabinet that will last without sending us to the poor house. A: Yes, I know. But no one has answered you in 2 days, so I figured I'd help bump it up with participation :) Good luck! **Q: Kitchen remodel** *(in Design Dilemma)* Need advice on a wood top island. I love the look but want it to be durable.
