After 3 months of waiting and telling us on several occasions she would have drawings to us next week, we sent a strongly worded email asking for drawings within the next week or a refund of our large deposit. After a week or two she finally provided us with drawings. However, they were preliminary drawings so nothing was to scale and we weren't please with the overall look. We decide to work with someone else going forward to avoid the unnecessary stress and wasted time. We lost a rather large deposit and wasted 3 months. If you work with Jennie Leigh I would ask to speak with builders she has worked with on past projects and add specific timelines to the contract she makes you sign. **Comment from Jennie Leigh Jones Design:** > While I do value Ms James' perception of the events - my assessment of the project/relationship is a little different than she is portraying. While I do agree that the timeline was not as speedy as It normally is - as she stated, there were no commitments to time made in the contract. However, with regards to the drawings that were delivered for the preliminary phase - these were presented just as described within the contract & with the mutual understanding that the next step was for her to critique & resubmit to me with the changes she desired. (See attached). Per the contract, and per feeling that I had indeed submitted drawings that were appropriate for the phase (upholding my end of the contract) - I felt that a FULL refund ($810) was not quite warranted. > > I am saddened that I have a client who is less than ecstatic with our working relationship - and I agree & concede with Ms James that establishing a design calendar for the project is a great idea. Below, I've also attached a copy of the 1st page of contract that defines the scope of the project as well as 3 of the initial drawings that I provided for the prelim phase - just to illustrate that the prelim phased drawings were not merely simple line drawings but additionally full color renderings - and that there was a product delivered that could be used as a spring board for their project. She had a challenge in our minds to increase the required living space we wanted within the existing square footage(interior)also an add on room/porch and new exterior covered porch and revamp look of the home.
