> I came to Craiger with a design for a covered pavilion already drawn by a landscape architect. They were able to build a very high quality structure and stay true to the plans while still filling in the details to make it finished and solid. Unfortunately our first set of plans was rejected by the city permitting dept for some missing details, but they were able to make changes that they called for, and re-submit and it got approved. I did have to stay on top of things and make sure to contact them through the whole process. Craiger was very responsive to me when I contacted them, but it is clear that they are a very busy, in demand business. The one minor critique I have is that I did have to make sure to take the initiative and be proactive about contacting them throughout the process, turning in all the permitting paper work and communicating with the city and township, whereas some other contractors I worked with took care of those details for me.
> However, when an unexpected error was made by one of the other contractors which would have affected their build, Craiger was able to quickly make some modifications and still push through with getting their work done. Overall very happy with their work.

> Very easy to work with and fair and reasonable. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted at the start, so the design required a few iterations, but Craiger was very patient and worked with us to make it perfect. When our gas line ended up being in the way, Craiger was very thoughtful in coming up with creative solutions. Craiger is so much better than most contractors/builders in our area who simply want to draw up the most expensive plan possible, then any questions or changes annoy them, or who simply won't give you the time of day unless you have a huge project that costs $50k or more. We are very pleased overall and would highly recommend Craiger!

> I feel compelled to write a review, since I am a frequent Houzz user.  I hired Craiger three years ago to build a deck, fences and planters.  I liked him so much that I did not even get any competing bids.  He convinced me it was OK to use nails for the fences and planters, even though all others that I had seen were built with stainless steel screws.  To make a long story short, they used galvanized nails that were not even hot dipped.  Within two months there were dark black streaks coming out of the holes.  When I had him come over to inspect, he tried to convince me that the stains were sap coming out of the wood.  Net, net I had to hire someone else to fix it, which entailed prying all of the wood off, scraping off the glue and then reinstalling all the boards with stainless screws; although I did succeed in getting him to reimburse me for the expense.  There are still black stains in some places where even rust remover would not take it off.  Hopefully he has learned his lesson.
