I refused with COVID-19 I didn’t want them > in my house . I told them I was getting a lawyer to get my refund.they called on phone later saying we could pickup the next day.When we got there for pickup they refused to load it on the truck.THE LADY CALLING THE SHOTS WAS VERY RUDE AND. This was against the recommendations of our cabinetry contractor, and with hindsight, we should have listened to him. > > Starting out they were very helpful, and we found some beautiful quartz for our kitchen remodel. They were very accommodating to let us pick out the perfect slab, the price was right, and they were able to work within our timeframe. Great! > > More hindsight, while closing the deal my husband witnessed poor customer service on their part by not supporting their service after a sale. A customer was there in person and was irate. They apologized to us saying they were sorry we “had to witness that“, and acted as if the person had no grounds to complain. Big red flag in hindsight. > > Then came installation day. They arrived on time. One spoke some English. Then they inadvertently dropped the biggest piece onto the silicone before it was lined up and in place. It took all 4 guys and all the force they could muster to lift it back off the adhesive and straighten it out. Okay, all straight now. > > Then they were getting ready to leave, and one of the workers yanked hard on the cord of a power tools. The kitchen had just been completely rewired so the outlet was tight and likely had never been used. Well, this caused the electrical outlet to flash up and burn the wall! They said the office would take care of it, but that my husband had to sign the paper they wanted. They left, and my DH called their office. By then we had noticed a fair-sized dent in our new dishwasher that had just been delivered in perfect shape 2 days prior. It was directly in front of where the men were using all their strength and leverage trying to re-lift off the stuck-down stone to reposition it. They had to have bumped it with a tool or with their knees and they were large fellas. We do have photos of the before and after on both issues. > > Hubby called their office right after the crew left to discuss the outlet, burned wall, and now the dented dishwasher. The rep who helped us with the sale quickly got very defensive and told him he signed the paper saying that everything was done to his satisfaction, and that it’s not their fault the outlet blew or the dishwasher had a dent. They can’t be held responsible because he signed the paperwork! > > The rep was VERY helpful during the sale, quickly became defensive and condescending trying to “explain” to him and me how we were wrong and they are not liable. We spoke with them several times to get them to accept ownership of their mistakes and make it right. No go. They did assure me that the crew was “their guys” and not a sub. Yiu would think they would honor and repair any damage claims made by “their own”. Nope. The rep didn’t even care that they were recommended to us by prior clients, and they do not care about their reputation as a company. > > So, our out of pocket costs to repair the wall, just our time and some leftover paint. Electrician by the hour to fix the outlet, $100 per hour and more of our time. We had to wait an additional day for him to finish and fortunately, I was able to plan around that. The people at Southern Stone could not have been any more professional and accommodating. The salespeople worked hard to get get us the color and look we wanted, purchasing was easy. Even the shop employees took great pride in the way our job was going to turn out, to look the way we wanted. One of the slabs had a small defect, which I don't think I would have ever noticed, but it was not good enough for them. On cutting day they asked us to come to the shop and check out the problem. It was fixed with extra effort on their part. I call that good service. Installation went great also.
