How well does it hold up in a shower. I've heard it must be sealed every few yrs. Also have heard even when it has been sealed, there is evidence of mold and mildew forming. What are your thoughts. A: I have been installing it for years, and have never had negative feedback, Use epoxy grout, and tile as close as possible(small grout lines). Use Red Guard water proofing on Hardie Board before tile goes on. And as with any bathroom tile regular cleaning helps to deter mold and mildew. **Q: What should I do with this faux fireplace?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We moved into a brand new home and our decorator designed a faux fireplace for the living room. She said the room needed warming up. But now that we are moved in, the fireplace just seems so overwhelming and busy. I've had other designers come look at it--some say to take it down; others suggest painting it white. Advice please!!! I fear it will be too dark. We have a white chair rail. Can I paint white below the rail and red on top? I don't have wainscoting which I love but can't do at this time? All trim is white.
