## Community Q&A

**Q: Kid Friendly Living Room Ideas?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Just had this room painted and am looking to replace the rug and furniture. The artwork in the pics is going to be hung on the wall behind the white couch. The IKEA bookcases need to stay for storage.

Does anyone have any inspiration photos they could share? The room isn't all that big and I need soft, durable furnishings because my kids literally bounce off everything.

Thanks!

**Q: Kitchen Hardware - Brass pulls and knobs yes or no?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are going with a white linen shaker cabinet. The kitchen is open to living area and breakfast nook.
Our tile selections are below and consist of a vein cut limestone subway backsplash, a quartz marble look counter top and a warm grey floor tile (can't do wood). I will be bringing wood elements with the stools and table in the nook area. Living area has wood and brown leather chairs.
I am trying to bring some warmth to the cooler elements and thought brass would help do that.
What do you think? Should I do brass or go with a polished nickel?
If brass should I do the doors a simple knob or use the pull? https://www.atgstores.com/cabinet-pulls/lews-hardware-31-11-round-bar-pull\_g2247215.html
First pic is cabinet and layout rendering (not floor or counter choices)

2nd is material choices:
grey tile - floor
marble - counters
subway limestone - backsplash

**Q: Need some character adding to new kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi, new here so hoping I do this right.
I had a new kitchen fitted a few months back and haven't gotten around to finishing it. The problem is I really dislike it... I totally rushed into it and don't like much at all about it. The cupboards are cream which i dislike and the worktops are black and even though I am very clean and tidy it shows up every tiny crumb. I want a new floor, still need splash back and blind etc. But wanted some advice before rushing out. How can I turn this around and inject some character? I am going to be paying this kitchen off for another 2 years so I need to find a way of loving it.

shall I just invest more money and change the work tops and have a splash back between the cupboards!? What floor would go with cream but also match the table!? Again I didn't think about the table in relation to the kitchen and it's a nice oak one that cost too much to get rid of after 12 months.
The wallpaper is much nicer than the picture makes it appear.
Thanks in advance

I am looking for some transitional/modern kitchen cabinet pulls and knobs in Chrome or Brushed Nickel. They need to be square versus round. Calacatta marble, white shaker cabinets, Vicing range, etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

**Q: Need help with drawer pulls!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am remodeling a 1930s home and need to select drawer pulls for the kitchen. I really love the Restoration Hardware Aubrey pull (first photo below). I love the character of it, that it looks classic but not expected. However I do not like the idea of having four holes drilled per pull. I'm concerned that someday when I'm ready to refresh the look of the kitchen and I want to change the pulls, I will have a problem because the likelihood I will find replacements pulls needing four holes is slim to none. So I've been hunting high and low for a very similar pull with the normal two holes. The problem is everything else I see has less "presence" on the plates - the end plates of everything else I'm seeing are punier. Also on the Aubrey I like 90(ish) degree curvature of the handle. The others I see have a much less squared off curve. I'm finding lots of stuff that looks like the second photo, which bores me to tears. Does anyone out there know of a polished nickel or polished chrome pull that looks very similar to Aubrey but with two holes? I know I'm being particular, but the devil is in the details :). Thanks!
