David holds a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree from Kansas State University (’92) where he was awarded the Paxton Award for Outstanding Design, given to one person in each graduating class. After a summer building a large addition on a home in South St. Louis County, he then founded Hercules Designs, a custom furniture and cabinetry company that was based in South St. Louis City. He operated that company with his wife for three and a half years before taking a position with Kiku Obata & Company, a design firm located in the Central West End. During his tenure at Kiku Obata, David focused on retail fixture design and space planning, having several successful projects published in industry design magazines. David then took a temporary hiatus from the design field with a very successful 10 year stint as a Regional Vice President with a financial firm, while keeping a toe in the design and construction world with miscellaneous freelance commercial and residential projects. In 2007 David founded Hercules Design Build in Webster Groves, Missouri and has since seen steady growth.
