In 2015 I created Hummingbird Design, LLC to explore my voice as a Garden Designer within our California drought. It is my goal to design gardens using Native California and Mediterranean plants and succulents as many of these plants are adapted to drought and create a much needed habitat for native wildlife. Covering any bare soil with a thick layer of mulch is essential and mimics the forest floor. This all important addition allows soil to thrive and become alive and able to absorb water be it from drip irrigation, hand watering or rain.
