> If Eric is on the job, you are in amazing hands. His attention to detail is impeccable. He brings out the best in an existing home by seamlessly blending new architecture without compromising the original style of the home. His outstanding work becomes eye-catchingly beautiful, but still blends into the natural landscape. He knows New England style architecture and will make your home look as timeless and stylish as possible. I highly recommend Eric!

> Eric designed 2 different projects for us; a mudroom addition & kitchen remodel as well as a master bedroom/bath over our garage. He presented several different options knowing how important it was to us that the end result blended well with the house. We loved that he was able to generate 3D models so we could get a sense of the space before committing to the final design. Eric really listened to what we wanted and made many suggestions which we thankfully incorporated into both projects. We've gotten so many compliments on the parts of our house that he designed and love the way everything turned out. We always recommend Eric when friends mention a remodel or new construction - he's really the best!

> Eric is the consummate professional. He gave us some great insights on a project knowing that we might not be able to do the project right away. He has a calm and knowledgeable demeanor and puts you at ease right away. We’ve seen a great deal of his work on other projects and we’ve always been amazed by his keen eye for design.

> My husband and I have been working with Eric for a year and a half now. We consulted with him after buying our home in Beverly Farms, which was built in 1900. We loved the character of the home, but really wanted to modernize and expand it a bit, but with keeping some of the period details (pocket doors, coffered ceiling, etc) in tact. Eric came up with an amazing vision - beyond what we could have ever imagined for it - incorporating design details that fit with other original elements of our home. We’ve completed our first phase of renovations within the existing structure and are hashing out our second phase now with Eric, which hopefully will include a mudroom/garage addition. I would highly recommend Eric (already have actually) to anyone looking for an experienced architect with an extraordinary vision.

> We highly recommend working with Eric. He is not only the utmost professional, he is also incredibly talented, produces the highest quality work, and makes sure you get exactly what you need throughout the process. He knows this industry incredibly well and his work speaks for itself. Our company works with him on various kitchen projects and each one has been stunning.

> I hired Eric to draw plans for a very small apartment kitchen. He kept clear lines of communication throughout the project and he came up with a much more functional layout for our new kitchen than it was previously situated. I highly recommend Eric for any size project. His communication, attention to detail and ability to follow up is of the utmost professionalism. I will absolutely hire Eric for my next project, and I hope you do as well.

> Eric is absolutely amazing to work with! We are busy professionals with a young active family, hence working with someone who can tailor their design to our family's lifestyle was very important to us. We met Eric after another architect told us that our design ideas could not be accommodated in our space. Eric really listened and then surprised us with a design that not only incorporated EVERYTHING on our wish list, it completely exceeded our expectations with design elements that only a highly experienced architect could create. Eric transformed an awkward space that was over our garage and created a family room, mudroom addition with a bonus craft space which very quickly became the highlight of our house. Eric turned our residence from a place we tolerated to live in to a family home we love and plan to stay in long term. We were so happy with the outcome of the addition that we commissioned Eric to redesign the rest of our home in and out, including the back deck area, bathrooms, third floor addition, and the complete front façade makeover. Once again, Eric completely exceeded our expectations. Eric is a highly skilled professional who designs with the client's needs, lifestyle, and budget in mind. He is very creative and delivers what the client wants and more!

> We were in search of an architect to help design an addition on to our house that would work as an area for my elderly mother as she was recently widowed and does not want to be alone. This space is not for her to live 100% but space for her to have at our home while she visits and down the line when the time comes she will be able to live there. We are a family of five , with three teenage/college age children, we wanted the space to be separate but yet close enough for her to feel she was part of the family, space that would combine our active life with her not so active life with out either feeling bothered. Eric was extremely professional , patient and came up with a plan that we are extremely happy with . We are in the process of having the addition built at this time as it is not complete but are excited for the end product. Would highly recommend the services of Eric and his company SeaGlass Architects, LLC !

> As a Realtor for many Luxury New Construction projects, I can say that Eric consistently impresses me with both his creativity and attention to detail throughout the design process. Both my contractor clients and ultimately the end consumer truly appreciate his vision and professionalism. It is without hesitation that I would recommend Eric Gjerde again, and again.

> Eric Gjerde designed a mudroom addition/kitchen remodel(phase 1) and a larger 3 story addition which included a master bedroom on top floor and a large family room on the first floor(phase 2). Eric was very easy to work with right from the beginning. He was very insightful and gave us many great ideas and designs to choose from. After we chose the direction we wanted to go in, the design took shape very quickly and Eric even generated some 3D models so my wife could "see" and "walkthrough" our new space. The final plans were very detailed and gave the contractors an even field to bid from. Eric was always available to answer questions from the general contractor, building department or sub-contractors and the build went great.
>
> We love our new space and cannot remember how our house was before the construction. People always comment on how great our house looks outside and in. We have recommended Eric to many of our friends and they are just as satisfied as we are.

  - Description: A beautifully done home remodel, with a new expansion on the back, gave these homeowners the ability to create their dream kitchen with plenty of space for all needed items. With the island being a different color, the island becomes not only functional but a focal point in the center of the room. The extended back panels that create the seating space, makes the island look more like a furniture piece then extra cabinets. A decorative hood at a different depth then the rest of the wall cabinets…

## Community Q&A

**Q: wall color please** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Frosty White SW 6196

**Q: What kind of siding did you use.** *(in Photo Questions)*

We're building a new 'old' farmhouse and I love the look of that siding, is it wood? Is it all new or is some new and some restored? Can you buy it directly from a manufacturer or was it custom? Partner wants HardiePlank but I don't think you can get that look in it.

A: That is good old fashion painted cedar clapboards 4" to the weather! Replaced wet rot with new wood and painted. Nothing beats the vintage look and feel of wood. If the wood is good quality and well protected it will last for many years. Did a project in Winchester and the home had the original painted cedar clapboards 8" to the weather as they say, and the boards were still in great shape. We did a small addition and were able to get the cedar milled up for that project but 4" to the weather should be more available. It was a shame to paint it but you could tell by looking at it that is going to last a long time. Clear heart vertical grain!. Best of luck on your Farmhouse!

**Q: Anyone have any idea what tile this backsplash could be?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Daltile - Arctic Gray - 2x4 Tumbled Field Tile honed - Not sure you can still get it

**Q: Basketweave Backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the name of the basketweave tiled backsplash?

A: Datile Limestone Mosaics
Arctic Gray Basketweave

**Q: Nicely done for a narrow kitchen** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you be able to tell me the dimensions of this room and would this still work without the bump out.?

A: It is 12 feet wide without the bay window!

**Q: why are none of the questions answered?** *(in Photo Questions)*

i wanted to know pain color and the counter top material but others have asked without a response.

A: Ben Moore - Rock Candy - Soapstone countertop
