She thought of some of the little details that can make a big difference in the     functionality of a kitchen.  For instance, in order to help us maximize space, she recommended a particular type of refrigerator that gave us more movement space as well as counter top space.  She also helped us find a unique tile for our kitchen back splash that we hadn't seen in any of the big box stores.  Melanie has a genuine passion for what she does and devotes 100% to her projects. The backsplash tile came from modwalls.com. It's a 2x8 ceramic from the Kiln collection. The colors are: zest, brine, licorice matte, milk gloss, wheatgrass, splash, and cookie. We've had it for 12 years and we still love it.

**Q: Why choose metal and shingles for roofing, rather than all metal?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm curious as to whether this was purely for aesthetic reasons, or whether there were other considerations, such as cost or cell-phone reception.

I'm also wondering if you have much temperature fluctuation.

A: Hi Katgal,
The decking here is 2x4 treated lumber, which is typical. Yes, we have some of the largest (and fastest) temperature fluctuations in the country.

A: The paint color is Sherwin Williams Tango. It has been retired, but, as I understand it, they will still make it for you.
