**Q: Established hydrangea struggling this year** *(in Landscape Design)*

Hello,
I have two 6-year-old hydrangeas (new wood) in my front yard that bloom every summer.
This year, one of both is struggling. It had too much dieback and I cut many dead branches in spring. Some leaves are turning yellow and only few buds formed. 
I fertilized both in early summer. The other is thriving blooming as usual. 
Both hydrangeas are in the same spot. Both get morning sun and afternoon shades.
Does this one have some type of disease?







The other hydrnagea:

A: This appears to be a classic case of chlorosis. try adding Espoma Iron Tone )or chelated iron, if you have alkaline soil). Hope that helps!

**Q: Paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the color of the paint on the walls?

The color is Manchester Tan by Benjamin Moore. It is a wonderful, warm neutral, but bear in mind that the color will change in different surroundings and different light so you might consider a test swatch.

**Q: Backsplash?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have new cabinets and counter tops.  Now need to decide on a backsplash. Any suggestions. We have a contemporary and rustic theme.

A: I love Rachel Janes's suggestions! Just make sure you have plenty of lighting so it doesn't feel to dark and heavy. The importance of proper (and abundant!) lighting in the kitchen cannot be overemphasized.

**Q: Please help me choose a paint color!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello!
We are building a house and are trying to decide on a color for our powder room. We have 3 options and love all of them so now it's coming down to a popularity contest here. Our floor is a warm white and our vanity is a very warm white antique-looking cabinet. And we are trying to go for a bit of a French feel. The powder room has a good sized window and is south-facing so it gets a good deal of light. The top one is harbour haze, the middle one is winter lake, and the bottom one is Normandy.  Which would you go with?

A: I'd vote for \#3 as well. \#1, in my opinion, is a bit on the timid side and is better suited for a nursery. I think Normandy, however, will be bold and beautiful! Nice choices on the other elements in the room, by the way! I hope you post "after" photos!

**Q: Help me pick drawer pulls!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I cannot decide on pulls, knobs, cups, or mixing them!  The counters have a silver fleck, appliances are slate. I really like black cups for drawers and black knobs for doors. I'm  beginning to question the backsplash now that I can't choose pulls. The 2nd photo is our uninstalled splash and pulls we already bought. help me!

A: Without meaning any offense whatsoever to northgehl, subway tile has been used for over a century, so the chances of it soon being "radically out of style" are pretty low!

**Q: Dark Dining Room - is that ok?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My dining room does not receive much natural light. I love the look of dark gray dining rooms, and I would like to paint the walls a dark gray, but am wondering if it would look just too dark and drab without much natural light in the room.
I have a large cherry hutch in the room that will remain. The table and chairs are temporary until we find something we like for the room.
Should I go with a dark gray, of something lighter?
Ideas and favorite grays (both light and dark shades) appreciated!

A: Oh, and dimmers are always a good idea so you can get just the light level you desire.
