**Q: Does this arc lamp look ridiculous in this space?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hubby's not a fan - I said, let's give it a few days, but I'm wondering if it's the Emperor's New Clothes and don't want to admit it doesn't work -- or does it (?)
(we tried the other side and it hits the ceiling fan) . 

Thoughts please :)

A: It wouldn’t be comfortable to sit there with it turned on, you’d feel like your in an interrogation chair. Beside the fact that it’s too big, wrong style, etc.

**Q: Here goes my bathroom remodel** *(in Remodeling)*

These are the only "before" shots I have.  Sorry.  I'll try to update as the project progresses.  We're using Revolutionary Carpentry and Paradise Kitchens in Sarasota for all the work.  Demo should be underway as I post this.

A: You may want to rethink a 12” linen closet — after the frame and door you end up with a 9” hole to dig into .. you will never find, or be able to reach anything in there. Even putting roll-outs into a 12” cabinet you end up with even less space to pull stuff in there. Bad idea.

**Q: Can anyone point me in the direction of Champagne bronze cabinet pulls** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can anyone point me in the direction of cabinet pulls and drawer pulls to matxh champagne bronze by delta?   Reasonably priced pretty please!

A: Schaub & company, I used the Menlo Park collection for a recent project to match the Delta Champagne Bronze faucet.

**Q: 7’ High kitchen ceiling** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a 1980’s kitchen that needs to be remodeled. At the bare minimum, it needs new cabinets, countertops, appliances and floor as things are falling apart. The ceiling is at 7’. It was dropped to accommodate the plumbing from the upstairs bathrooms. 

It’s been recommended that we raise it to 8’ for resale value. Personally the 7’ height doesn’t bother me except it makes finding light fixtures that people won’t walk into a challenge. The floor joists in the ceiling are 2x8. They really should be 2x10, so it’s not just a matter of raising the ceiling...it’s sistering 2x10’s onto the 2x8’s and running a band around the perimeter of the room for the new joists to rest on.

Is it really worth the trouble & expense to raise the ceiling? I’m leaning to not raising it but would appreciate other opinions.

A: What’s the estimated bump in value for raising the ceilings & renovating the space? What do the comps in the area have (84” or 96” ceilings)? How long until you plan on selling? .. many other questions to ask yourself and weigh the answers vs your budget.

**Q: Maple cabinets and regret white backsplash** *(in Remodeling)*

I just had new quartz countertops put on my maple cabinets they also put white subway tile for the backsplash I was thinking of refacing the cabinets to white but the maple doesn't look bad with a new quartz on it I just now regret doing the white backsplash what can I do to make it pulled all together since it is already almost done I would have preferred to put a different backsplash next time maybe the grout color any suggestions? New drawer pulls?

A: Those cabinets need a deep cleaning and new hardware, new appliances, new flooring — all the color tones are off. The subway tile and counters should have never been brought into this color scheme. If you reface and change the cabinet color your still competing with the floor. And, then your putting all of that on 20 year old cabinets.
