> Doucet Remodeling & Design remodeled our master bathroom from the studs out, and the resulting bath is outstanding!  Cathy and Stephen work together as a team, so the client doesn't need to be the liaison between the designer and the contractor.  Cathy's attention to detail is phenomenal--she really thinks of everything before any components are ordered.  Think distance between back of faucet and the wall, which was to be covered with tile and the appropriate substrate before the installation of the sinks; or exactly how deep a wall niche should be, determined by the tile you have chosen, not to mention hundreds of other calculations.  She measures and re-measures, and gets it right.

Subs clearly like working for the Doucets and most have had a long working relationship with the company.  All parties were easily reached by text, phone or email and responses were quick.  Floors and carpets were protected and kept clean; the work area was left tidy each day.  And the work itself is top-notch.  It took a bit longer than we anticipated and we did go over budget, but it was worth it.  We have a room that we will use every single day and love!

> The Doucet Remodeling and Design Company built a three story addition on our house in Lexington.  We love it.  It is absolutely beautiful and it blends perfectly with the footprint of the original house.  A unique feature that this contracting company provides is a husband and wife team.  Stephen is the contractor and his wife Cathy is a certified interior decorator.  Having an interior decorator as part of the team makes the whole process flow smoother.  Cathy is very detailed oriented and made sure all the accents pieces ie cabinet knobs and handles were ordered and matching.  Nothing was overlooked.  She helped me every step of the way picking out paint colors, tiles, cabinets and countertops.  The Doucets sell two different cabinet brands.  The cabinet company we chose was able to custom make bathroom cabinets and vanities in addition to the kitchen cabinets.  An architect is part of the design team;  he drafted 2 different plans and gave us the option of which to choose. The project was overwhelming for us when we started out.  Working with the Doucets  made the experience as painless as possible.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the brand of cabinets and what color stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm looking at cherry Showplace cabinets now and need a color that goes with an older natural oak floor (so it is somewhat yellowed).  I'm worried about a stain that is too dark, but this looks nice.

A: Good morning,
These are Showplace cabinets; Cherry with Cayenne stain.  They were a nice contrast to the oak flooring.  Hope that helps.

**Q: Do you think I will like an OVER THE RANGE Microwave?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are completely remodeling our small (is a 12 ft long) galley kitchen and the designer says that the only way to avoid putting the microwave on the counter is to go with over-the-range. I have never liked the look, but he tells me I'll quickly get used to it. I hope so! Mine would have to be a vent-less one too, using just a carbon filter. I will have coil electric stove with controls at the back. If you are (perhaps new?) to having an over the range microwave, do you like it??

A: Over the range is not always the safest location; perhaps you can install under the counter?  a base cabinet with an open shelf
