Is 4.5' by 10' too small for closet?

A: Most walk-in closets that are 5 to 6 feet wide are at least 5 or 6 feet long. This means the total space is on average 6 feet square.

I'm creating a closet out of a spare bedroom and don't know where to begin.  To the right of the larger window is the actual bedroom closet and the picture was taken from the doorway.  We are considering closing that up and creating a new entry from the master bedroom closet halfway down the same wall.  The smaller window is facing the neighbors house so any privacy suggestion would be a great help as well.

**Q: Organizing front closet** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am looking for a way to effectively organize the top shelf area of the entryway closet.  It is important to mention that his is the ONLY common closet in the house outside of the bathroom closet.

We currently keep frequently used tools on this shelf (hammer, nails/screws for hanging pictures), variety of light bulbs, iron, extension grabber, candles, extra plugs, etc.  it seems as soon as you pull out one or two things everything falls around it.  The small light bulbs are all kept in a shoe box.  Since everything else is odd shaped I am thinking maybe two big baskets, but the depth of the shelf is only 10.5".  Any thoughts?

A: I agree with shellycco, clear bins to sort your tools and belongings will help greatly. You certainly do not want any of those items falling on your head!
