**Q: Can you please tell me the manufacturer and color of this tile?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the porcelain tile- where can i get it?

A: Hi Kellie,
thanks for the inquiry. It’s been several years since this project - I don’t believe it is in production anymore. Your best bet is to show this image to your local tile shop and see what they have that is similar. Good luck! :)

**Q: Backsplash help!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Ideas? Kitchen done! Just needs a backsplash

A: Looking at the style and aesthetic of your cabinetry and island I think a clean white beveled subway would be beautiful and keep the monochrome as well as classic traditional look while adding some texture. I also love the white artisinal subway that has more of an undulated surface and uneven edges giving character, warmth and hand-crafted beauty to an otherwise clean and simple splash. If you are looking for a bit more variation and 'pop' you could do a carrera marble basket weave or herringbone splash to relate to your island top. The possibilities are limitless - what is your ultimate desire/impact for your splash? Subtle, dramatic, reserved, statement, ease of maintenance, understated, patterned, simple..... This information can help us pros better advise you ;)

**Q: Need wall art design opinion** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello Everyone!
We are trying to make a decision on a new piece of artwork for the wall on our staircase.  There is another abstract piece of art in the room adjacent to the foyer area where this art will be placed.  Our concern is having two similarly themed pieces so close to each other (although each piece is uniquely different) creating a "too much of the same thing" look and feel.

The attached pictures  show a photoshopped look of what the piece of artwork (looks like water) would look like on our stairwell.  You can see the other piece of art I'm referring to in the room with the blue chairs.  Btw- the leaves on the stairs are not permanent (fall decorations)..  ;-)  
Do you think this looks ok or is it too busy with too much of the same theme and colors??

A: Hi Mike, 
Thank you for the photoshopped image but the color as portrayed does not do your artwork any justice as a supporting wall color for the artwork. I agree with Karen's sentiments. Install it on the hall wall as you are coming down from the stairs giving you a focal point and not looking at them simultaneously as in this image while connecting the spaces with the blues of the painting and furniture. The wall color on the stairwell with the different lighting leans a bit too sand-colored to support/compliment the artwork you are considering.

Beautiful, how did you get such a smooth transition between what appears to be linoleum and your hardwoods floors?

**Q: Master bedroom - curtains and wallpaper** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We just bought dark grey colour headboard and existing wallpaper is red. I don't think red wallpaper goes with this grey headboard.

Can you please suggest what colour wallpaper will look nice.
We want to have modern look.

Also what colour curtains will look good. Offwhite ?

A: Something like the wood tiled nightstand that chemayne posted above would go beautifully and soften the mix a bit contributing to the cozy feel you are after. What I like about that suggestion is the clean lines, the incorporation of black metal legs & drawer pull & warm grey tones on the drawer face, not only does this blend help soften/cozy the look but it introduces a subtle variation in color without going overboard thereby keeping the clean modern look you are after without it being overly masculine or feminine. On the red wall utilize art work that has white, soft grey & splash (emphasize splash - don't go overboard, barely noticeable is ideal) of red to pull it all together. It can be simple, abstract, etc - the possibilities are endless, but, again, this will help pull the colors together so it doesn't feel so cold (the heavy color blocking contributes to a sense of personal detachment: aka: not cozy) a softer hue of gray will connect, soften and cozy up the room - to keep it modern don't go too crazy with the colors - either stick with the scheme you have now or go with whichever, but a key element with modern, regardless the variation, is simplicity.

**Q: Dimensions of each cubby please??** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I love shoes & I love this shoe wall. Shoes are one form of artistic expression, for the person designing them & for the person wearing them. I would love to have this for display in my home. Nice work!
