The owner talks a big game and their pics on Houzz are amazing (even if a bit formulaic). However, we experienced numerous problems on our recent yard renovation. While there are many things we could list, we’ll be brief and share just one. Perhaps the most distressing was discovering they substituted the stone we requested and agreed to use on our front steps and withheld that information from us…it seems they tried to pull a fast one! Topaz will probably respond here saying it was the pandemic and they did their best to match, since materials we requested weren’t available. However, the point is, they didn’t tell us and acted as though everything was fine! That behavior creates an unsettling feeling and we are left wondering what else they withheld. > We’ve had a working relationship with Topaz for over ten years (big projects and small), so gave them the benefit of doubt and an opportunity to make things right by swapping out the inferior stones (which looked off and didn’t match other areas of our home) for the ones we requested. However, the replacement job was even sloppier, with grouted joint lines several inches thick! We could keep going and detail the other issues too, perhaps another time…but it wouldn’t make sense to spend more time than was apparently spent planning and overseeing our project.
