They did not obtain a license to work in my city. They did not obtain a permit to construct my project, which resulted in me receiving a court summons where I was going to be fined. They never did the required engineering plans, just a few computer renderings of what it would look like that anyone could have created with some free software. The contractor only showed up for a few minutes every few days, leaving people who didn't know how to do quality work and spoke minimal English to make mistake after mistake. They trashed out my yard, never cleaned up one single scrap, and illegally dumped concrete debris on city property across the street. I will be spending thousands of dollars to replace materials that were improperly installed. I won't continue, because I expect they will now want to respond by trying to gaslight me and make this somehow all my fault, just as they did every time I pointed out a problem. **★ — Stacy Reeves, July 2022** > I do not recommend Budget 2 Beautiful Designs. The tile work they did at my home was of very poor quality (see pictures). The initial work was performed over two weeks in May and I am still waiting (in July) for them to return and fix quality issues with the tile install and painting. During the work, I repeatedly requested that the workers keep the door to the garage closed (because they kept the garage door open); I have dogs who flew out the open doors the first day of the job. Every day after that, I found the door to the garage open despite repeated requests to keep it closed to keep my dogs safe. The light fixtures, art, and furniture were delivered to my home but the Designer did not return to place the items and there are still design elements that were supposed to be built that haven't been so my rooms look partially done. A refund for over $2k was promised for items I paid for that were never delivered but it has not been received and follow-up messages regarding that money don't receive responses. I even got to assemble my own furniture and hire an Electrician to install the light fixtures (because theirs never showed up to provide an estimate). There are still several items that were part of the original bid that I will have to find other people to complete. I was given a printout of the furnishings and accessories to complete my design but requests for the remaining item numbers and stores to order them from have been ignored. Basically, I need to start the job over (thus paying twice) to get a finished project of acceptable quality. **Comment from Budget 2 Beautiful Designs:** > We really enjoyed working with Stacy. Unfortunately, we started her project right before we had our second baby so there was a slight delay in our response time, which we had let her know we were expecting ahead of time. There were about 4 small grout issues for us to come back and correct in our punchlist and instead of just patiently waiting, she started writing terrible reviews on the internet. We are builders and not dog sitters so clients really need to keep their fur babies in their kennels or a safe bedroom instead of expecting us to try to fight to keep them inside every time we have to make a cut outside. And it's really nice for our guys to be able to have the garage door open for ventilation so they aren't breathing purely dust. We promised a refund for some of the design items that weren't ordered prior to maternity leave but then realized that Stacy actually still owed us for the build side, so Stacy came out ahead on that difference. She also had to assemble her own furniture because that's the design package she chose. She had to hire an electrician because it wasn't a part of our scope. We wanted to help her with that portion but we lost out on some time due to our son coming early. So we're happy she was able to source another electrician.
