We just refinish the red oak floors, plan to repaint the walls and replace the couches. I have no idea how to decorate this room as it already has it's own style and feel what ever I decide will clash with the existing architecture. Any help will be greatly appreciated. A: I'd suggest pairing drapery panels with some nice wooden or roller shades to take care of the acoustic problem while also providing a good solution for privacy. **Q: Living room kitchen combo arrangement** *(in Design Dilemma)* I posted a few days ago for accessory help and was given furniture rearrangement ideas. I've been trying different arrangements. What are your thoughts and ideas? I planned to get rid of the love seat, but now I'm liking the cozy feel it adds. A: I agree with some of those who commented above; drapery panels paired with simple blinds could add to the room with minimal effort! **Q: POLL: Double or Single Front Door?** *(in Polls)* Your front door is so important in setting the mood for your entire decor. Do you have a single or double front door on your home? VOTE and tell us about it in the comments! A: It really depends on the style and build of the home; some just aren't set up for grand double doors but others really need that kind of design. **Q: What to do with these awful vertical blinds?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are moving into our new home soon, and the first thing I'd like to do is replace these vertical blinds! Any suggestions for replacement on this 3 panel sliding door? A: I agree with the above; get some sheers and take your vertical blinds out for good. You'll be shocked at how different your home will look! **Q: Final verdict?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm close to "okay-ing" this glass back splash and stone. Glass would be subway tile size only and fill the space under cabinets and window-sill. I think it would be a cool feature to have the stone on the empty wall running up to the top of the cabinet height. We're painting the walls Light Pewter Benjamin Moore (shown in left side of stone pic). Should I go for it? This isn't our "forever home" so I'm hoping to make design choices that most people will like. Let me know what you think please! A: I agree. Go with the backsplash under the cabinets but not all the way up that wall; paint is a better choice, especially since you know it's not your forever home and paint is less permanent. **Q: What to put on 9 feet windows?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have a condo with 9 feet floor to ceiling windows and approximately 49 feet across (if broken down of course) not sure what I should put? And we don't like curtains. A: Roller shades are a great option if you don't like curtains.
