We were sold on them because we were told they would be more durable than the laminate floors we replaced. They are not! They are already more scratched up and look worse after a few months than the laminate looked after 12 years. Not happy at all considering the cost. We regret replacing the laminate. **Comment from Olde Tyme Craftsmen, LLC \* Exquisite Wood Floors:** > We are truly surprised and regret that this client is not satisfied. There are some incorrect assertions here. First of all, they did not have laminate flooring but rather a ½” engineered wood floor which we replaced with a ¾” thick engineered wood floor which has a thicker wear layer. This is the preferred installation over the radiant heat that was in the house because it is more stable than solid wood. The client chose to do this because the flooring we were replacing was badly worn, the wear layer was too thin to be sanded and finished, and they wanted to customize the color to coordinate with the kitchen remodel. We have been using the Bona finish as on this project for 18 years and have done thousands of projects with great results. Although we believe it to be the most durable finish on the market today, it is not impervious or impossible to scratch. We have had this finish in our house for 18 years which has survived the wear and tear of two children, all their friends, and multiple dogs. We have not seen the problems that are mentioned here. We are very sorry that these clients are unhappy and would welcome an opportunity to discuss this if they so choose. **★★★★ — Elizabeth Ashworth, Oct. 2019** > Project date September 2019 > We had an existing floor reinstalled to correct previous installation issues by another contractor. They refinished this floor and the floors in two other rooms. Project was about 1055 square feet. > The crews were extremely professional and worked quickly to get us back in our living space. There were a couple issues that they took care of quickly. > They do move the furniture however if you have furniture that you care about have professional movers move the furniture. We were not really sure what the furniture moving process would be. We were a bit shocked that they suggested putting furniture outside under a tarp. We quickly cleared out a garage to use. > They could improve on proactive project scheduling communication. A lot of things had to be moved prior to their arrival and advance notice is helpful. We inquired about the schedule several times so that we could be ready. > The process is "dustless" however do not expect that you can live around the work. There is enough dust and odor to bother someone with allergies and sensitivities. > We are extremely happy with the finished product.
