Future and current clients beware. Some of the major issues: > After the new granite would not sit correctly on my current cabinets, I ordered new cabinets. I was told my new cabinets would arrive in 5 weeks. After 7 weeks, the designer finally tells me the cabinets were a special order and it will take 3 months for them to arrive. I asked him why he didn't tell me once he was aware of the 3-month timeline and his response was he was too embarrassed. > After waiting 3 months for the cabinets, the designer ordered the wrong cabinets. I was told, by the owner, that I signed off on the order and it was my fault. Yes, I signed off on the order but I didn't place the order. The wrong cabinets were ordered. I was given a choice to reorder the cabinets or a reduction in price for the original cabinets (which I selected). > The new cabinets and backsplash tiles are in place and now the space for the cooktop hood is too small. The Traditions Remodeling carpenter moves the cabinets to accommodate the cooktop hood which results in a 1/2" space without backsplash tiles all the way up the wall. They use cabinet molding to hide the gaping space. > There were numerous other issues I had with Traditions Remodeling. I will not do business with them again nor would I recommend them. **★★★★★ — Louise rudnick, Nov. 2018** > We had Transitions remodel our 30 yr old kitchen that was stuck in the 80's. Everyone was very professional . The carpenter that DID most of the work was very conscientious and wanted to make sure the job was done correctly and in a timely manner. He was also one to admit and correct mistakes. Everyone involved with our project had the same attitude as well and they all were very nice and polite. They gutted our original kitchen, and they have transformed it into a beautiful and functional space for our family. Dean was our designer, and we loved his ability to listen to what we needed and wanted and transform it into reality, helping us consider options we hadn't considered while staying true to our own style. Lynn was our job foreman, and he pays incredible attention to detail and goes the extra mile to make sure the work is all performed at the level that Transitions is known for. All of the workmen on our job were polite, courteous, timely, and friendly. They cleaned up incredibly well each day and made sure the work was done well. Our friends couldn't believe that Transitions was able to keep to their time line (excepting a 12-inch snow storm right in the middle of the job that brought the whole area to a stand-still for a few days), and everyone is impressed by the finished product. They respected our budget and helped us to understand what we could get for the money, and there were no surprises along the way. And even with a little wrinkle at the end, we have been impressed by their quick response to clear up the issue. We couldn't be happier that we chose Transitions. New to the remodeling world, Janice, Tim and the rest of the transitions team took care of us. From the initial meeting, they demonstrated their experience and paired it with transparency into their approach. Two huge things to consider when choosing a remodeling company. They took the time to explain the process with a detailed plan and proposal of how the could execute our vision for our bathroom. The price was slightly higher, compared to other contractors in the area, but they explained the reasons why (experience, quality of work, and process). Given that, we felt more comfortable spending a little more to ensure the result met our expectations. > > We were able to work with Janice to customize the design features - her recommendations were high quality, yet affordable - keeping our budget top of mind. In addition, Janice provided proactive updates on the project and kept in touch frequently - something we consider incredibly important during a remodel project. > > Once we started the project, the crew was efficient and respectful of our home and schedule. They accommodated any requests, and cleaned up after themselves each day. > > Overall, the Transitions team was excellent to work with.
