James Décor was established in 1946, and has the distinction of being Springfield’s oldest design firm. Lee Haik, owner, attributes this longevity to offering the finest quality merchandise at fair prices, backed by the best customer service possible. Lee is an associate of the American Society of Interior Designers and attends major markets several times a year to keep abreast of the latest styles and trends.

James Décor offers a comprehensive line of furniture, including the latest styles from Marge Carson, Century, Hickory Chair, Maitland-Smith, John Richard, and Theodore Alexander. Our 20,000 square foot showroom also features unique accessories, including original art work, prints, bronzes, lamps, and rugs, in styles ranging from Old World to Contemporary.  Our staff of friendly, professional designers is always on hand to assist in every facet of home design, whether it is selection of colors, flooring, fabrics, room layouts, furniture arrangements or window treatments. > Having a small den with an irregular shape in a new home, we sought the services of an interior designer and chose James Decor after hearing they were the best. Measurements were taken by designers and we chose one from two “to scale” design drawings they offered, purchasing furniture they recommended based upon their drawing. Did question length of sofa after a year of trying to design on our own, but were assured it would fit. Long story short, the furniture didn’t fit, custom sofa being 1-1/2 ft too long. The owner initially refused to allow us to return custom sofa (high end but very vanilla and easy to resell) even though we wanted to purchase the same sofa in a smaller size. After further conversation she agreed to a return and committed to coming by to look at room herself to ensure our replacement was proper size. No show. In addition and on her own, she cancelled our pillow fabric order that tied together the color scheme of chair (red accent piece), rug and sofa we’d purchased. We’d also purchased a set of side tables recommended by our designer from the floor sample they had which were black, but were to be ordered in brown. We received one at delivery as other was damaged in transit and they would reorder; however, one we received was not brown, but same black as what we’d seen in store, later finding a “Sold” tag inside drawer with designer’s initials. Questioned designer who confirmed the side table only came in black - we were never notified and would have cancelled order - only there was no order to cancel as we received the floor sample, at full price.The owner refused our returning the side table, even though it was not what we “ordered” and after assuring us it was returnable since it was not a custom item. Buyer beware, this has ruined us for looking to high end furniture stores offering design services and unfortunately has stained the reputation of those who are honest and stand by the services they offer.

Maralee was wonderful working with the furniture and accessories I already had and choosing new items that worked with the old perfectly.  My home is warm and inviting as well as nicely updated.  The craftsmen that they work with are also top notch.  I love my draperies, wall hanging and new upholstery.  They all gave me great help to make my remodeling upheaval a very manageable experience. When we moved into our new home, we needed a lot of new furniture because the rooms in the house were a lot larger and a different style from our previous home. Can you tell me where to find the comforter in the bedroom pic? I've been looking for the perfect one for months. this may be it!

A: Yes, we can get that for you.  Please let us know whether or not you're still interested.

**Q: Where can I find this headboard and much does it cost** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for your inquiry.  This is a custom order headboard so there are a lot of feature choices.  You can choose a height of 55" or 67", contrasting welts or nailheads can be added, fabric choices range from one of their products or we can send fabric from another supplier, and bed sizes are twin/full/queen/king.  They take approximately 6-8 weeks to arrive.
Just to give you a ballpark on pricing, a queen 67" high in a middle range fabric would be $2,525.  If we can be of any assistance, don't hesitate to contact us at 417-883-2616.
