**★★★★★ — David and Jeannie Anderson, Nov. 2017**

> Petrine really came through for us in building both our dream and forever home. From taking the most basic plans and turning into reality in an efficient and cost effective manner they where first class all the way.

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Thank you for giving us the opportunity to build for you. Your house really stands out and we have had a number of great comments about how it looks from passersby. We hope you have settled in and we wish you many happy years in your new home!

**★★★★★ — Bill and Stephanie Talbot, June 2017**

> We interviewed 3 potential Construction companies and Petrine had all the qualities we were looking for; a superb team of construction professionals, a detailed comprehensive contract easy for us to follow, and a strong commitment to quality. We could not be more pleased with our home.
> We had the opportunity to work with the entire team. Frank and Mike came to our land and provided a vision for placing the house for maximum views and flow to outdoor spaces. Bob and Joe made sure everything was designed and ordered for 100% satisfaction. Noah, the site manager goes the extra mile to ensure your house is your home. The entire team worked together to ensure any issues were resolved to our satisfaction. Petrine holds themselves to a very high ethical standard and we feel so strongly about their dedication that we are now using them for a second project. We are happy to call them our company and now, our friends. Bill and Stephanie

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Dear Bill and Stephanie, we are proud to be your company and your friends. It was a pleasure to build your home. Being asked to build your second home this year is absolutely the best review you could have given us. You are wonderful to work with and have a great understanding of the complexity of the building process. Not many people would want to build two homes in 3 years! Yet, your vision and excitement to do it all again is fantastic. Can't wait to get some pictures of house \#2!

**★★★★★ — Lisa Kearns, May 2017**

> From the very beginning, Petrine worked hand-in-hand with us through every step of our project, around our budget and our family's vision. We found the ideal location, and not only was the home built to take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings, it was meticulously designed to maximize the use of every space for our particular family needs. The quality of their work was superior, they responded to all our questions and concerns throughout the process, and we were able to work through weather-related set-backs and budget updates. We enjoyed working together with Petrine and couldn't be more pleased with our home!

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Thank you for letting us build for you. It was great to work with you to build the home that your family needed and wanted. We love to boast about all of the cozy corners and window seats in your home. It was wonderful to visit with you recently and see how you have settled into the place. We helped build the shell, but it is you and your family that makes it a home!

**★★★★★ — Mark Pilon, Feb. 2017**

> From beginning to end, my experience with Petrine has been a most rewarding one, beginning with the planning of my new house, the actual construction, the finishing touches and occupancy. The staff was always at my disposal and very helpful in explaining what I didn't understand, and they were ready to accommodate any reasonable suggestions I made during the project. The same accommodating attitude has carried through even for years afterwards, when I needed information for the purposes of maintenance. There always questions even when they give you, as Petrine did, a comprehensive manual. I sometimes needed explanations since I'm not a mechanical type, and they were always very polite and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good experience in building a home.

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Thank you very much for your generous and thoughtful review! It is very rewarding to have served you and to have been able to stay in contact as you have settled into your new home. We hope it continues to serve you well for years to come.

**★★★★★ — Clare, Feb. 2017**

> We built our custom forever home with Petrine. Frank truly has a gift with design and helped us create a house that is profoundly functional yet infused with magic throughout. The company team worked hard to have the project finished according to our timeline needs which was also impressive.

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Thank you Kromhouts! It is great to see you settled into your new home. It was a pleasure to work with you and build your home on such a beautiful piece of land. I have added some photos for you to add to the collection. It is a very handsome house!

**★★★★★ — Sharon Hickson, Feb. 2017**

> The assistance in designing just what I wanted was professional, experienced and innovative. They finished within the predicted time frame and original cost estimate. The workers were friendly, courteous, and always willing to consent to my extra requests. Most importantly, the
> few, inevitable glitches were attended to immediately and with no hesitation or charge. I love my home and everything about it and am very grateful for Petrine.

**Comment from Petrine Construction:**

> Thank you for the kind comments! We can't believe it's been so long since we completed your home. We are thrilled to hear it has lived up to expectation over the years. It was our pleasure to work for you to help you achieve your vision within your new home.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Wanting to change things but I'm no good at decorating! HELP** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My husband insists on doing everything himself to save money AND because he doesn't trust others to do as good a job as he can. He has worked so hard on our home, and made major improvements but I'm so tired of the dark green/oak look! Part of the problem is that our cabinets, doors and trim are all oak and all the yellow/orange factor of all the wood is beginning to seem SO dated. I'm willing to but my husband doesn't want to paint any wood (big surprise, right?!). I would like to keep the work to a minimum for us both: I need advice on how to modernize: because I just want to blow it up and start over! As you can see from the family room photos, I am also trying to get a better solution for the tv being the elephant in the room! Is there anyone out there who thinks I should leave things as is (minus my clutter!)?

A: We renovated an old Farmhouse and painted only the doors white on the upper cabinets. It came out great and helped lighten up the room. This kitchen has a slightly different cabinet style and we did replace the floor cabinets; which also helped brighten things up. Also, the white trim and accents are a nice contrast to the rest of the dark colors.
I agree, they look like good oak cabinets and shouldn't be disposed of for no reason.
The backsplash behind the oven could use some brightening up too. Some white or bright tile could be nice and it would allow you to do keep the cabinets as they are.

**Q: Which One Guys??? ! ! ! HELP, HELP, HELP ! ! !** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I was at Verona Quartz today in sun valley and saw a couple designs that are really nice.. i need help with choosing the right one.
I have white cabinets & light grey porcelain flooring tile.

A: I like the lightest as well. We just did a similar look in my sisters house and it turned out great. Will try and get some good pictures for you.

**Q: What color of Blue is this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

It looks like the same blue that is throughout the other rooms of the house. It's beautiful! Also, what is the name of the white on the trim?
Thanks so much!!

A: I don't recall exactly which color, but I know we love the Olympic colors from Lowe's and it may have come from that palette. It's so bright and cheerful! The trim is a standard white.

**Q: Great use of space!** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the overall size?

A: This gorgeous little bungalow is roughly 600 square feet. It packs in tons of details and makes a great vacation or getaway home. The owner uses it for just this purpose.

**Q: What color yellow is this? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: "Evening Glow" by Olympic- I meant to find the number and almost forgot to respond.

**Q: Chandelier** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where did you find the chandelier? I love it!

A: We picked it up at a local antique shop if I recall correctly. The windows came from a local old house parts store as well.
