> I had planned to start my basement finishing two years ago after waterproofing my basement.  In the process of waterproofing, they found my cast iron sewer pipes were broken or had deteriorated so I had to address that and put off finishing my basement. Two years later and my previous contractor became too busy to take on my basement, I found Salem Developments via Google search and reviews, gave them a call and Sam sent Emanuel out to give me an estimate. Their price was well below another contractor and within the margin of industry-standard cost. Although I had already had the design plan from two years ago, they were able to accomodate what I wanted to do and work with me if there needed to be changes. Salem Development's crew are very knowledgeable in what they do. They were on time and did not waste time. Although there were a few hiccups along the way, due to no fault of Salem Developments, there was a gas leak in my neighborhood, Spire wanted to move my gas meter outside and then I had a sewer backup. When I tell you Sam kept a positive reassuring attitude during all those setbacks, I don't know if he knows how much that meant to me. So from the framing, drywall, painting and bathroom floor install, I am very pleased with their work. I had previously hired plumbers and electrical, but they were able to work with those contractors and get the job done. Since I am doing this in phases, due to setbacks, I will definitely be calling them to finish the framing, doors and floors.  I will provide photos when all is done, and I will also be contacting them when I'm ready to do my kitchen.  I know this post was long, but I felt it was necessary to highlight how they handled my setbacks and discouragement through this whole project.  Thank you Salem Developments.
