Michael took many notes and made an rough outline drawing of the particulars in the layout of a 2 story 3,500 + sq ft. house that we were wanted to build. We would love to work with you on your next projects! A: All the woods used on this project are imported tropical hardwoods, including outdoor furniture, which was all custom made. Thank you for your interest. **Q: Where can I get those stools by the island?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: I designed them and had them custom made. The Bali Lani is our personal home and our children were toddlers, so I wanted a bar stool that they couldn't knock over. Most of the furniture in the Bali Lani was designed by me and custom made, except for the Asian antiques. **Q: What is the color of the cabana?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Not sure what color you're referring to, but the posts are made of Bangkirai Indonesian hardwood, the roof is Ironwood, and pad is grey with bright multi-colored pillows...golds and reds mostly...with white mosquito nets tied at each post. The mosquito nets that we use are not 100% cotton because in the humid weather of Kauai, they would get moldy fairly quickly. So we use a netting that is mostly synthetic. **Q: Post bases** *(in Photo Questions)* Are the post bases concrete? If so, how were they made? A: The post bases are marble and were made in Bali. They had to be cut, once on site and installed by a stone mason. **Q: Reclining Chaises** *(in Photo Questions)* Where did you find these chaises? On the hunt for a reclining daybed/ chaise etc... Thank you!!! A: The chaises were all custom made. I have seen some really great chaises on-line, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something very cool! Good luck! **Q: wrapped glulam** *(in Photo Questions)* what is the core wood used for the glulam ? was the merbau wrapped in Asia ? do you know any companies that can do this in France ? A: I wasn't sure that I understood the first question and if you were asking what the glulam was made of. If so, the glulam - Glued Laminated Timber, is a type of structural, pressure-treated timber made up of a number of layers of timber bonded together for strength with durable, moisture-resistant structural adhesives. Glulams come in various sizes. This one was wrapped with Merbau on site by the contractor. Any contractor in France should be able to do this for you. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
