Additionally, we do not perform repairs on projects that are long out of warranty. > That said, we did respond and communicate this directly to the homeowner. Scott knows how to design high-end living spaces and he delivered for us. > > Scott has a solid team of sub-contractors that he's used for years. We trust Scott with any construction project needs we have in the future. > > I would highly recommend Scott for any basement, deck, overhang, or general living space projects you're looking at completing. > > A few tips: > > For the best working relationship with your GC, set all expectations up front and as things change in your mind make sure they're communicated clearly and right away. Don't assume anything. Scott doesn't read minds! If you don't say anything, that's on you, not Scott. > > Be flexible. Sometimes what you have in your head is not feasible or practical. Scott will be honest with you on what will or won't work. Be open minded and consider all options. Work with Scott collaboratively and you'll come to solutions that you'll be satisfied with. > > Treat your GC with mutual respect. If you're the type of home owner that complains, finger points, and generally enjoys beating up contractors, consider doing the project yourself or not at all. Nobody deserves that kind of treatment including you if the roles were reversed, right? I would encourage you to do your best to avoid this kind of behavior throughout your project. > > Scott will do anything to make you happy, but be reasonable. He can't move heaven and earth though he may try. Think about what's fair before you ask him to move mountains and consider putting yourself in his shoes first before you judge a situation. > > All GCs - the good ones anyway - will have multiple projects going on simultaneously. If you're the only job your GC has, then I would be worried. Scott will be responsive, but he can get busy just like you. He'll do his best to get back to you right away, but if he doesn't don't blow a gasket. Practice patience and empathy. Know every job is important to him.
