**★★★★★ — Sapia Builders Corp., May 2019**

> Scot's talent for design is second to none. His architectural range always finds the perfect application. Additionally, his ability to work and communicate with his clients, builders, and other team members is something that we in the industry value tremendously.

**★★★★★ — La Pietra Tile & Stone, Jan. 2014**

> I have collaborated with Scot on several projects. Scot's fresh ideas and overall knowledge of various products can bring a customers vision to reality. His collective experience and attention to details helps a tradesman like myself do the best possible job for the client.

**★★★★★ — igoldspiel, Jan. 2014**

> I sold Scot his home in Sharon and when I saw what he did with it I knew he was the right architect for us. My partner and I were planning an owners suite/ house to our property in Kent www.theinnatkentfalls.com and had an idea of what we wanted but not 100% sure. We had just two meetings with Scott and he nailed it right away and gave us our very own house. He changed our lives. We will never the sell the Inn as now we have all the privacy we have ever wanted in quite a stylish home. He worked extremely well with the contractors as well as the historic commission.

**★★★★★ — taula, Dec. 2013**

> My home was designed by my husband - an architect- and when new additions were required i wanted both innovative ideas and respect for the original design. Scott Samuelson offered both -
> excellent brilliant new ideas that kept the original integrity of my home and added new beauty. He is extremely creative, wonderful to work with and with full mastery of his "trade".
> i can recommend him without any hesitation.

**★★★★★ — Sandra Childress, Nov. 2013**

> It is my second time around with Scot, this time for his advice on rebuilding a 522 sq. ft. deck/separate balcony with staircase and to lock in a reputable builder, in record time. What might sound like hyperbole referencing anyone else is exactly right for him. Scot's opinions are elegant, timeless, finely expressed and understated, proportional, interconnected and lightening-fast. In addition to his esthetic sense and professional skills, he is caring and unfailingly generous with his time and spirit.

It has sophistication yet is somewhat rustic which relates well to it's remote, and wooded setting.

  - Description: Additions to antique or historic houses can be handled in different ways. Sometimes the new work matches the original architecture seamlessly if done well, or it can be very modern and juxtaposed to the old. There is also an in between approach which is an addition that is clearly not original to the house but is designed to blend or "get along". With this latter approach it is easy to create an open interior space as you do not have the constraints of the original architectural forms. That was…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Congratulations for the Readers Choice Award!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Great article in Litchfield Magazine. May I post some of your photos on Instagram?

DF

A: Yes please do.

**Q: What is the paint color of the walls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the paint color of the walls?

A: Benjamin Moore Paloma Mist

**Q: What is the color of paint surrounding fireplace?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looks like it has a pink or beige undertone?

A: Cumulus which is another Benjamin Moore color from the same sample card as the previous one which was Paloma Mist or was it La Paloma......? Bear in mind the colors you see reproduced in photos can look very different then the actual color. Best to do some samples, many of them if need be on the wall in the space to be painted.

**Q: Where did you get the carpet and was it a 6X6** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Howard I got the carpet at an auction which measures 8x10. I find the prices on carpets are better at auctions then in retail stores.

**Q: Trim color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color is the trim on this house?

A: Hi Debra, The trim color was a custom Benjamin Moore mix to match Marvin's cadet grey clad on the windows and doors.

**Q: Would you be able to share the exterior paint color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I wasn't able to find a premixed color that was the right amount of subtle yellow so I had a custom color done. It is very easy to do so especially with Benjamin Moore who I used.
Colors are tricky as they can look different form one side of the house to the other depending on the exposure. It is best to try a few samples and step back for a look and give it some careful consideration.
