Owner, Teresa Beck, believes spaces should not only support the basic activities and needs of the inhabitants of those spaces--they should also provide an experience--our lives should be enriched daily just by being in our spaces. Teresa's keen attention to detail ensures the incorporation of elements that please the eye and also consider the way people move in a space, now and in the future. Ms. Beck began her career in interior design at the former David & Associates, Ltd. (a commercial firm) in Phoenix, AZ in 1983. In 1985 she opened her own design firm in Columbia, TN (Interiors, Inc.) and in 2005 added property development to her repertoire. Thus, her former interior design business became Tbektu Design + Development, LLC. Forty years of experience and over 350 hours of continuing education have afforded Ms. Beck the understanding of the common needs of people and, more importantly, the unique needs of individuals. Tbektu (tee' bek too) Design + Development, LLC's mission is to provide clients designs with a "mindful concept for living"--mindful of the current and future needs of occupants, mindful of the way humans move comfortably through spaces, mindful of minimum environmental impact, mindful of how we spend our time (low maintenance) and mindful of the impact of color and beauty on humans. ### Services Provided - Interior Design - Kitchen Design - Bathroom Design - Living Room Design - Bedroom Design - Space Planning - Furniture Selection - Dining Room Design - Lighting Design - Floor Plans - House Plans - Art Selection - Closet Design - Sustainable Design - Downsizing - Drafting - Handicap-Accessible Design - Green Building - Energy-Efficient Homes - Kitchen Remodeling ### Areas Served - Franklin - Spring Hill - Columbia - Mount Pleasant - Bahamas - Culleoka - Metro Nashville area - Santa FeNew Mexico ### Typical Job Cost $30,000 - 200,000 The range of $30K to $200K is what my kitchen or master bath remodels (gut jobs) typically cost, not including my design fees. I could not be happier with the amazing job and have certainly recommended her to others. **Comment from Tbektu Design + Development, LLC:** > I appreciate so much your kind comments, and am pleased that you have been happy with the results of your projects. Thank you for being great to work with! **★★★★★ — lmg118, Sept. 2015** > Our project was the complete gutting and remodeling of a very outdated, uncomfortable and unappealing 1984 house into which we were downsizing. We hired Teresa Beck to completely redesign, oversee and manage the project. She really understood what we were looking for, and was always always to listen to our ideas, suggestions and questions. Her > professionalism was extraordinary, and her vast knowledge about products, her efficiency, her attention to ALL of the tiny details involved in a project like this, but especially her wonderful design eye made for a marvelous experience. Her financial and timing estimates were so carefully done, and proved to be extremely accurate. Her construction drawings and elevations were fabulous, and a made the work so much more efficient for the contractor and subs. These drawings also made it very easy for us as clients to see exactly what was going to be done, and how it would look, and therefore easy to fine tune. She was always accessible, and terrific fun to work with. We really enjoyed this project and are loving the final result. I cannot recommend her more highly. **Comment from Tbektu Design + Development, LLC:** > Many thanks for the nice comments about your project! Successful projects mean good communication and rapport with clients, and you were super to work with--thank you! **★★★★★ — Robin White, Sept. 2015** > Teresa is not only an amazingly talented designer but she is also very professional and organized. She is a perfectionist and will demand the same from anyone who may be collaborating with her on the job. Her final product is nothing short of stunning! **Comment from Tbektu Design + Development, LLC:** > Thank you! I so appreciate your nice post about my work! **★★★★★ — katecardin, Sept. 2015** > I have had Teresa design two kitchens for me and was very pleased. She is very organized and prompt. If I have a problem, it is her problem. I am amazed with her attention to detail. I have been very pleased with her use of lighting in the kitchen. I was young during the first kitchen makeover but she adjusted for the eyes to age and the need for more lighting. My second kitchen was at a river house and the budget was much smaller and she made that one look fantastic too. I am always complimented on my kitchens. She has picked out lots of fabrics for me and I rarely don't like what she has presented. I highly recommend Teresa Beck. **Comment from Tbektu Design + Development, LLC:** > Your recommendation means so much. It is so great to have good clients who make my job so much easier by being fun and also communicating well what their needs are--thank you! ## Selected projects - [Neelley Hollow Master Bath](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/neelley-hollow-master-bath-pj-vj~7393793) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 5 - [Bar Make-over/Golf Club Lane](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bar-make-over-golf-club-lane-pj-vj~7393797) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 3 - [Porch Conversion/Oak Hill Farm Road](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/porch-conversion-oak-hill-farm-road-pj-vj~7393804) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 4 - [Powder Room/Antrim Circle](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/powder-room-antrim-circle-pj-vj~7393806) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 1 - [From Traditional to Contemporary Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/from-traditional-to-contemporary-kitchen-pj-vj~6706772) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 7 - [ELEVEN ON 7TH: PRIMA FACIE](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/eleven-on-7th-prima-facie-pj-vj~6706610) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 9 - Description: Spec home: construction plans drawn, furniture, lighting/electrical plans drawn, elevations, staging done by Tbektu. - [Guest Bath Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/guest-bath-remodel-pj-vj~6706758) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 12 - [Hunting Retreat](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/hunting-retreat-pj-vj~6706467) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 8 - [Kitchen Remodel of 10-Acre Estate](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/kitchen-remodel-of-10-acre-estate-pj-vj~6428260) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 14 - [Eleven on 7th/Halcyon Halls/Columbia, TN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/eleven-on-7th-halcyon-halls-columbia-tn-pj-vj~1904980) - Location: Columbia, TN - Photos: 15 - Description: This home was designed with environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, good indoor air quality, low maintenance and aging in place foremost in importance.
