We worked with Jon and Rachel on the design and were extremely pleased with all the options that they came up with for our space. They really tried to incorporate our must-haves (large island!) and what would work best for our space. My husband is pretty handy and wanted to do a lot of the work himself as far as installing the cabinets. They were willing to work with us and very open to this and Jon even gave my husband a lot of pointers on making sure everything was done properly. He always went out of his way to answer all of our phone calls and questions. We did hire them for some of the work such as the crown molding and trim work. My husband and I had some trade skills and experience, as well as family members who were skilled to help. We were by no means on the professional level, but we weren't newbies either. So, we wanted to do a lot of the work ourselves with help here and there where we needed it. A lot of companies would shy from this approach to a kitchen reno, but not Custom Crafts Cabinets! From the start, Rachel and Jon helped me with the very long design process. I had a very specific vision in my head and it was not easy finding all the pieces that brought it together. From the numerous cabinet samples, design changes, and visits to their shop (during a pandemic), Rachel and Jon never once made me feel as though I was being pain. Quite the opposite. They were just as determined to find my perfect cabinets and layout as I was. Once that was decided then the work began. Jon was always available for my many calls for advice and input. He even hand marked our cabinet install plans with notes, tips, and personalized instructions so we could install them ourselves. Then when we hit a snag with our farmhouse sink (little did we know conventional piping is usually too high for the deeper mount of the farmhouse sink), out they came to fix the problem. This level of personalized service and care is not something you encounter a lot this day and age. Custom Craft Cabinets definitely adheres to mantras of the past where they strive to make customers, not just happy, but feel important. They aren't just working on another job, they are working on your job, and your job is just as important to them as it is to you. I can't wait for our next adventure: a bathroom.
