Happy shopping! **Q: Love your work on this house! What type of counters did you use?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: You make an excellent point! A lot of stone and quartz fabricators/installers I talk to are not comfortable working with this product. It is much thinner than typical slabs (approx 1/4") which makes them nervous when creating the mitre edges or cutting for sinks. The supplier in this case, Bordignon, has been installing this type of countertop in residential applications for going on 7 years with zero issues from end-users (no staining, no scratching, no cracking, no crazing etc.). All fabrication is done in house, they fully wrap the slabs around WEDI board to ensure structural stability, then the same fabricators arrive at your home to install the supported pieces. Plus, because it's man-made you can get extravagantly beautiful designs for a fraction of the cost of their matching stone counterparts. The best advice I can give is to make sure the fabricator you're working with is experienced with porcelain tops and understands fully what he's up against.
