> Thanks to Erica, my clubroom has turned around and I can't express how satisfied I am with her work. Her designs brought life back into what used to be a very dull and ancient looking office. It was truly a pleasure working with her and I don't doubt I'll be seeing her in the future.

**Comment from Eco Method Interiors:**

> Thank you so much for taking the time to review here! I'm so happy you love it :)

**★★★★★ — Jodi Ryan, Feb. 2021**

> Erica and the Eco Method team absolutely exceeded my expectations! Erica was a true professional with a streamlined process, easy and responsive communication, and made the design, purchasing and staging the space so incredibly easy. I had some vague ideas of what I wanted and the general aesthetic I wanted to achieve, but I didn't have anything specific in mind. She presented designs that absolutely nailed what I was trying to achieve! Thanks to Eco Method, I am absolutely in love with my space. On top of all that, she was reasonably priced and kept the purchasing close to budget. I will definitely be hiring Eco Method again in the future!

> Erica is extremely knowledgeable. Considering limited eco-friendly options out there, I felt confident that she had picked the right pieces for our living room. Her aesthetic sense is commendable and she puts a lot of effort into small details. She is super friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. I could openly talk to her about my timeline, budget, and expectations.
>
> I look forward to working with Erica in the future as well.

**Comment from Eco Method Interiors:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words Briha! You were SO lovely to worth with :)

**★★★★★ — Ross Painting Contracting, Aug. 2020**

> Erica with Eco Method Interiors is amazing ! She coordinated a house full of furniture, drapes and accessories from across country LA to Austin, and hired guys to deliver, unload, assemble, and two assistants to pick up final touches and create Art on site in just two days !
> Her eye and attention to detail are top notch, and her color selections were so effective in this model apartment. I was able to communicate well about the items I had to purchase, and we had great clarity about the art pieces she let me do as an artist.
> The unexpected pops of texture, natural products, and modern were delightful to watch coming together as she worked with the items.
> Erica has great skills in space planning and rolls with any changes demanded by the actual window placement and setup on site, finding solutions that further defined her vision for the project. She has planned all tasks for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
> An enjoyable experience~

**Comment from Eco Method Interiors:**

> Thank you Fina for the kind words! I'm glad you had a good experience with me :)

**★★★★★ — Ruggles Home Improvements, May 2020**

> I worked with Erica on her client's project in West Los Angeles. We installed about 5 rooms in a home, everything from painting, wall treatments, window treatments, furniture installation and more. Erica was easy to work with, approachable, flexible and had a relaxed approach, which I appreciated working with. From the design point of view, I was impressed watching her process. We started from a completely blank space working through to a finished product and it pulled together very well. I do get to view a lot of home interiors in this work, and Erica created a stylish but unique design that had a definate wow factor. She was capable in project management with multiple subs at once and problem solved as we went along. I would definitely recommend her as a quality designer and also as a top professional for design or decorating projects.

**★★★★★ — Emily Friedman, Nov. 2019**

> Erica is amazing and did such a beautiful job helping us redesign our living room. She was spot on with her recommendations, super patient throughout the entire process and we had a lot of fun working with her. She completely elevated our home and we're so grateful - can't wait to hire her for future projects!

**★★★★★ — Bri B., Nov. 2019**

> Working with Eco Method Interiors was a dream! Erica is incredibly professional and responsive. She is a pleasure to work with and very patient. When working with clients who may not know exactly what they want, she is great at assessing style/vibes and finding all the right pieces. She helped us completely re-design our living room and we couldn't be happier! She is worth every penny. We will most definitely be working with her again in the future.
> An added bonus - I love her knowledge of sustainable practices and eco-friendly furniture companies.

**★★★★★ — Shay Bloch, June 2019**

> Erica was such a great person to work with.
> Not only that she managed to do the impossible in such a short time and budget, but her work also reflected everything we wanted in a cool productive space.
>
> It was super fun working together Erica. We hope to see you again in our next office :)

**★★★★★ — Mary Beth Hoffman, May 2018**

> She spent a lot of time getting know my style and what I wanted out of the new design. She really listened to what my style was and incorporated it perfectly into the design for my living room/dining room. I didn't like a lamp for my living room and she had no problem looking for one till I was happy! She found furniture in my price range, that fit my style! Everything was done in a timely manner. She was quick with responses and seems very dedicated to her clients. It was a pleasure working with Erica and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their home.

**Comment from Eco Method Interiors:**

> Thanks Mary Beth - I can't wait to see it come to life :) It was a pleasure working with you and helping to spruce up your new apartment.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Garage door color-suggestions?** *(in Paint)*

Ok, I need suggestions for the garage door color. The main color is a soft grey-Balboa Mist and trim is white-Chantilly Lace. The roof is black.

Was going to go with Wrought Iron for the door color. I’m thinking too dark for garage door?? Thoughts?

A: I think something like this looks good!

**Q: Picture Ideas for a large wall space** *(in Home Decorating)*

I like the oval wooden shape on the wall but the wall is too large for the piece. The wall measures 14' to the door and 10' ceiling to floor with the peak at 18'. Any suggestons?

A: I would go with a large, rectangular mirror hanging width-wise to balance out the circular little table you have there. You can find a lot of great mirrors at thrift stores.

**Q: ANALYSIS PARALYSIS: LIGHT OR DARK TILE?** *(in Flooring)*

I need to install tile in my living room, kitchen (with dining area) and powder room. The rooms run together and I want the tile to be continuous throughout. The floor is slab on grade.
I'd love to have wood, but have a large dog that managed to severely scratch Brazilian cherry (with a scratch-resistant coating!) and a cat that throws up almost every day. And there's enough of a moisture problem that tile requires careful waterproofing underneath, so even engineered wood is risky.
I don't like wood-look tile. It doesn't feel right or sound right when I walk on it.
The living room is quite small (16.75' x 14.5') and quite dark. It houses a 7' grand piano; the sofas are upstairs in the library. I will add some shelves and a Stressless chair and a narrow chest - no big pieces. The piano has to be where it is shown below for acoustics.
I'm going to open up the outside wall with a large window installation and mirror one wall, to increase the light and sense of space.
The tile will be large format, probably laid on the diagonal. I'm considering honed in the living room (if the tile is dark) and not honed in the kitchen.
Some say that light floors make small rooms look bigger because they reflect light. Others say that dark floors recede and make a room look taller. And that's right where I'm at. I'm pasting pictures of different scenarios below and would love feedback.
I also read that dark tiles show dirt: the ones I'm looking at are mostly speckled so this may not matter as much.
I seem to overload this page with too many pictures, so I'm going to try to paste them in replies instead.

A: I can say from experience that dark floors definitely show dirt more than light floors and its also my belief that light floors do help a room appear larger. If you're going with tile, try to make sure it's Green Squared certified! This can be anything from Crossville and it means that it is eco-friendly and sustainably and ethically sourced!

**Q: What Color Wood Floor Finish?** *(in Flooring)*

I am having the kitchen floors sanded and refinished and I was never crazy about the orange oak color that is currently in the kitchen. Now is the time to change it, but I’m stumped as to what color floor would go well with the cherry wood cabinets? Lighter, darker or more red? I appreciate your advice!

A: I would advise going with a floor that closely matches your backsplash/countertops

**Q: furniture layout conundrum- Help please!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are in the process of getting our kitchen remodeled, which has involved two wall removals. We are close to finished and I am having a hard time decided how to configure the layout in our family room. It’s an L shaped room with obstacles such as French doors, a fireplace, a back stair well, and pocket doors into what will be our tv den. I do not need a tv but want to have something comfortable and inviting for parties as well as daily usage by our young family. I would love to hear your ideas! Thank you!

A: I think definitely a small sofa and a coffee table facing the fireplace and maybe a chair or 2 with their backs to the kitchen to kind of create a designated space for the sitting area. If not a tv above the mantle, you'll definitely want a piece of art or some kind of focal point.

**Q: Bathroom DEMO** *(in Flooring)*

Hi HOUZZZZ! So my bathroom demo is in full swing ! I currently have a 7x7 bathroom…and I will be needing to select a tile design (flooring and tub wall) for this area. I am leaning towards the grey/white colors since our home is that color. The vanity will be replaced and also the toilet (adjacent to the tub). But I am having a hard time choosing a tile design/layout. I the bathroom is small, so what tile designs will help “elongate” this space?? We will also add a niche…thank you HOUZZers…any help advice is welcomed!

A: As a good rule of thumb, larger tiles that match the color of the walls. This seemingly eliminates the borders between the wall and the floor, creating a more breathable, seamless space. Also, the larger the tile, the longer the distance the eye travels from one tile to the next. This creates the illusion of a bigger space. Also, a diamond pattern creates the illusion of a bigger room than a checkerboard pattern. In a diamond orientation, the widest section of each tile faces the entrance. This prevents you from measuring the space in terms of tiles across or tiles down. Also, any tiles from Crossville are Green Squared Certified meaning they are eco-friendly and sustainably & ethically sourced.
